Work was good. Prices are a rip off, ridiculously high. The wanted to charge me over $1000 to replace my alternator, I did it my self 2 hours, labor free, battery, alternator, ancillary parts less than $300. And I got the part brands the dealership recommended, yes I had to shop around, was worth saving over $700 for labor. And my guess is, if it took me 2 hours to replace the battery and alternator, it would have taken the shop less than 1 hour. I do nor recommend John's Auto Shop, unless u r rich and don't care about money.

Was looking for a local mechanic shop and found this one. Went in told them what I needed and if they could find out what was causing the noise from the steering wheel . The gentleman in the front desk Curt knew pricing from memory and told me when I would hear back from them. Got a call the same day with what was fixed and the proposal for additional work needed. I will definitely be using them for future work on my cars.

So grateful for the excellent service and quality work from the guys at John’s Auto Shop. Leaving our hotel by the mall for our return trip home and our power steering pump fails, fortunately the shop was right down the road and I was able to limp the car there.
Tom at the front desk gave us a loaner van so we could get a hotel as it was in the afternoon and he wasn’t sure if they could get it done so late in the day.
Well the guys stayed late and were able to have it ready for us first thing in the morning allowing us to get back in the road as soon as possible. Absolutely fair pricing for the work and we are incredibly grateful for them going above and beyond to get the work done.
Thank you to the entire team at John’s Auto Shop! Great communication, fair pricing and excellent work.

I ran over something on the highway, causing my undercarriage to drag on the ground. I drove to the nearest auto shop and it happened to be John’s! They helped me out right away taking off the dragging piece so I could make it home. They were an absolute life saver! I get overwhelmed dealing with car issues, but they were so friendly and honest. Would highly recommend!!

John’s Auto is unbelievable. My sister uses them for all her car repairs. I’ve been in the car business for 39 years and then retired. I no longer have access to a repair shop that does charge exorbitant prices and doesn’t try to rip you off.
Then I was introduced to John’s auto. They are trustworthy and affordable. My son’s car is a beater, but we need it so he has transit work. I was facing a $1000.00 bill for a bad brake hose . John gave me a huge break because I was going to have to junk the car if I could not afford the repair. John’s did it for half the cost and did it in a day . I’ll no longer use the rip off chains like Firestone and Car-x. They could care less about loyalty and honesty. John’s exemplifies great honest service at an affordable price. Hats off to you guys. What a great place! We experienced a blown tire on our way through Minneapolis with our RV. We took the first turn we could to get off the highway. We came upon John’s auto shop. These guys were awesome, they helped get our spare on safely, kept us calm, and sent us on our way to pay it forward! Can’t thank them enough! Super friendly place!

I moved to Richfield because the rent was cheaper than in Bloomington. I wanted to look around my new neighborhood so I got out my bike but I had a flat tire so I walked the 2 blocks to John's auto and I found an old man outside and he took my bike and filled my tire for me! It was the original John from John's auto. So when I came to get my car's oil changed it was not a surprise to me that it had changed hands but it was a happy one that the new owner was John but he was a young man. I have had the best service from this company that I could ever have asked for. I used to drive my car down and they would do my oil change and I would be able to get to work on time. I moved from the area over a year ago but before I did I got my oil changed one more time. I was on my 2nd vehicle and they didn't even blink. I told them I was moving to Edina and I came back to them 3 weeks ago for another oil change and this time there were some issues. I'm a poor kid with a very good job but John didn't let that bother him, I have had a serious brain cancer that I should not have survived 20 years ago and he is going through something similar. He said to me we are in a similar group so we need to stick together. He is covering the whole cost of the parts and labor and I will get a loaner car for the duration. It was a sizeable sum and if he hadn't done this I think he knew it wouldn't have gotten done. I did ask him, what should I do just get another car? He said he would help me out and HE DID! GREATEST MAN 👨 I WONT TAKE MY CAR TO ANYWHERE ELSE The whole auto shop is full of caring individuals that truly show they care personally about their clients. GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO PROVE IT TO YOU AND TELL THEM THAT SHAWN SENT YOU! Amazing 👏

I can't say enough good things about John and John's Auto Shop! John is a stand-up, genuine, compassionate man. I had just arrived back to MSP after leaving my vehicle in the parking ramp for a few days. Upon starting it, I knew it wasn't going to make it the two and a half hour drive home. I called a few auto shops and kept hitting dead ends, until I talked to John. He told me they would drop everything and take a look at my vehicle. The customer service was top-notch from start to finish. John and the rest of the staff was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to walk me through the repair my vehicle needed. In addition to the fantastic service, what truly sets them apart is their commitment to quality and standing behind their work. John even called me later that evening to be sure I made it home. I highly recommend John's Auto Shop if you want dependable service, peace of mind, and truly one of the best guys in the business!

Very satisfied with the work they've done on my vehicles. The staff are friendly and clearly explain their recommendations. They have very good communication including showing photos of what needs to be done and the completed work. Convenient location and hours.
