HORRIBLE customer service, horrible loan terms, credit card benefits are trash. Seriously the employees are incompetent and don’t seem to really understand anything. No overdraft protection, horrible app, the list goes on. Once I pay my loan I am out of here. Garbage.

Used to love this credit union when it was RBCU. Now that it has changed to My Credit Union, I think the president and board have adapted a policy "MY MONEY".I switched to this place full time back in the SHUFFLE OVERDRAFT FEE era of the 2000s. RBCU was great at preventing fees, and if you didn't have money in your account, guess what, they just declined the payment WITHOUT CHARGING A FEE FOR NOT HAVING MONEY!!!My Credit Union charges fees similar to big banks now. They have lost their neighborhood charm. If you try to appeal to one of the customer service reps about being out of state and unable to put any money in your account, they just respond with "Well you signed the agreement with your terms and conditions, so no we can't give the money back!". It is almost as if the reps, all females at this point, are rewarded for holding onto as much banking fees as possible.Since the credit union is not part of the shared branch initiative (a credit union where you can make deposits from another credit union in the group), they lack any convenience like depositing money into a large banking network, yet come with the same big bank fees you would get with Wells Fargo or BOA.So to make this review short and sweet, go to Trustone Credit Union or another Shared Branch credit union. Also, find one that doesn't like to get off on charging their customers overdraft fees. Or if you like fees, then just go to a bank.

these guys are incompetent scam artists and should never be trusted with a single dollar. their banking and security processes would be laughable in the 1990's and by no means holds up to modern day standards. i will never allow a single friend or family member to bank with this institution again

I have been with My Credit Union (formerly RBCU) for over 25 years. I have read some of the other reviews and I am flabbergasted with some of these. My experience experience has been nothing but stellar. I use the mobile app, in person, drive up and phone calls. Always have had a great experience with anyone I have interacted with and I keep an eye on my accounts for anything weird which you need to these days with identity theft! Ran across a couple of items this way and they took care of them for me! Awesome experience for me from day one! Love this place ❤️

They allowed my account to overdraft after I specifically opted out. After this I attempted five times to bring my account current, but the only response I was given was an automatic email saying I would be reported to an online system that would not allow me to open new accounts with any bank in the future.

On a scale from 1-10, My Credit Union is pretty good. 4 stars! Would be 5 stars if Cheryl worked everyday.

Adventure Club is a great feature of MYCU. It’s like meeting friends for coffee….a great way to meet my older neighbors. Just fun.

Bad loan experience on refi, kept delaying closing, almost cost me to lose my home, unreliable and irresponsible atmosphere there

We have used My Credit Union (previously known as Richfield Bloomington Credit Union) for the past 25+ years. The service has always been stellar. Great customer service, great product offerings, and just overall GREAT. This last year has been a nightmare. First we opened a new savings account. This resulted in my phone numbers being switched around so verification texts were misdirected and our mailing address was incorrect. I updated all of these things myself online, but it was a hassle. Then I discovered that one of my bill pay accounts (that we have had set up for over 3 years) was changed from a check to an electronic payment. This would have been ok if it had worked. The payments showed as “succeeded” when I looked online. The payments went “somewhere”, no one seems to know where. It wasn’t until I called my creditor to find out why they were sending bills for things I had already paid that I found out what was going on. I was never informed that the transactions were changed, so I had no reason to check to see if they worked. Now I have a bill that has been turned over to a collection agency. I am mortified. I was told to setup a new account to pay this creditor. I did that, submitted the payment again and supposedly it went as a check (I will follow up to be sure they actually receive it) but the payee record has once again been changed from check to automatic! So I can’t use this account in the future or the money will go into limbo again. When I have called the help center I have been told I would get call backs. Has never happened. The most recent was today…I was to get a call from the third party outsourced company that is responsible for these bill pay changes. Never happened. We are considering moving our accounts. It’s a lot of work, but I feel like I can’t trust the transactions I am routing through their bank. Very sad to see a demise like this when they have remodeled or rebuilt all of their branches within the last couple of years, and changed their name with a lot of fanfare. Maybe they should have concentrated on customer service instead.

There's nothing "My" about My Credit Union. Its Them and they are just as cold and mean as a bank.

A great family credit union. I've been a member for a year now and love it. The tellers are exceptionally kind and professional--patient and keen to answer any question I may have that comes up. Saturdays can be pretty crowded so keep that in mind when you need to complete some business, but otherwise I've had no problems.

It has been a nightmare trying to work with this credit union to wire my funds to another city after I moved. It has taken me at least four phone calls over a month to try to get them to wire my money to a new banking institution. The first time I called, I was told they couldn't do that with an outside provider. After contacting them this week on Tuesday again, I thought they had completed the wire but after checking with them today, they never sent it to my new credit union. I was told that they had been trying to reach me and had left voice mails. I have no vms on my phone from My Credit Union. I would not recommend My Credit Union, their customer service has really gone down hill in the last few years.

Since the switch to "My Credit Union" I've never received such awful service from a bank. We will be moving our accounts, very archaic and customer support is not helpful. We've have numerous errors that we have had to bring to the bank's attention pertaining to balance errors on our accounts and response time is slow and less than helpful. We've been customers for years, but the level of service has depleted so much that its just not worth it.
