This place is a rot. I shopped in the store everyday until I got the most horrific customer service experience with the deli staff. On 3/18/24 around 1 PM I went to charge my Tesla and proceeded to get some groceries and deli for my kids and this female worker (African-American 5.5") in her twenties started yelling at me with the question, dark meat or white meat? I was the only customer in line. I replied please just give me fried chicken breast. But she kept raising her voice at me and asking me the same question just to taunt me and be confrontational. Then she got tired and said she'll get someone else to help me.A guy came over and helped me and exchanged pleasantries with me all in under 2 minutes, like we always do, almost everyday. While I was checking other items to add to my grocery, the lady still kept taunting me, relating her story about me to the guy and mocking me.I am a fairly accomplished individual, bachelor of SC, houses, kids, small businesses but I don't recall ever being humiliated and taunted like that for no reason whatsoever in any store. When I talked to the kitchen manager (Caucasian 6.2"), he was fighting me the whole time, immediately took her side, asked me if what I want, if I want him to fire her or what? He told me that's how she is, and he can't change her behavior. He also told me Hy-Vee park lot is not the only place to charge my Tesla implying I don't have to come to their store. I never went again. If their shareholders see this whole interaction they will be very angry. These employees are essentially sabotaging the business by actively chasing customers away.In business school, we learned every customer you pissed off equals 10 customers. That was 20 years ago. Nowadays, I'm guessing it's at least 100, with social media.Let's me conservatives and say I used to spend $1000/M there, it's easy to also assume that crowd did the same thing to at least 100 other customers. On that basis alone I'd let your imagination run wild and imagine how much money these untrained, unmanaged, uncivilized employees are making Hy-Vee lose.Leadership comes from the top. There's a reason why these employees behave this badly.

I dislike the layout. It's very different from other locations and they don't have a good variety of dairy free products.

Store seems to be going on a downward spiral for a myriad of reasons. Some examples, no more self checkout, no longer stays open as late. If you get rid of self checkout, you may want to have more cashiers?!? My gut tells me this may not be a Hy-Vee for much longer.

The workers in the food area were nice and quick to help in the food serving area and to check out. We love the Chinese food there, too.

Well organized. You can get lost if you don't know where stuff is, but the staff is very helpful and most items can be found through labeled aisles.
