“ADDENDUM: Clancy's has great sandwiches and supports the community with big hearts and concern. At lunch, there can be a mad rush for their classic roast beef sandwich, but the staff handles the crowd with efficiency and detail.
I was on the street in front of Clancy's when one of their customers was mis-identified as an officer of an organization that was terrorizing Minneapolis. It had nothing to do with Clancy's! As I tried to get to my car, people yelled the most obscene and disgusting epitaphs at the couple in front of me. I was just walking down Grand Avenue. They were even spitting at this innocent individual. As a liberal who marched for civil rights and against the war in Vietnam during the 1960s and 1970s, I was horrified.
Blaming Clancy's is ignorant, and an integral part of how this country is dismantling. Clancy's Meats & Fish is important to our neighborhood, and represents the kindness and empathy that has been representative of Minnesota for decades. Give them your support.
Located on a charming street with ample parking, Clancy's Meats and Fish welcomes patrons with smiles and an engaging atmosphere. Known far and wide for their sandwiches, I ordered two roast beefs with the works to go. They were prepared with lightning speed, and I brought them home for my wife and me to enjoy at lunch. We wolfed the large sandwiches down also with lightning speed. They were delicious. I will return to Clancy’s to enjoy its great food and neighborhood vibe.”
“I absolutely love getting my meat from here. I drive about 30 minutes just to pick it up, and it’s worth the trip every time. Tony has always been incredibly kind, the team is consistently helpful and flexible whenever I need something.
I eat a lot of beef and have tried ribeyes and ground beef from many different places, but the quality here really stands out. When I cook the meat, it’s always fresh, flavorful, and stays juicy instead of drying out like meat I’ve bought elsewhere.
Another thing I’ve noticed is how well the meat holds up in the fridge. Even after a few days it still looks fresh and keeps its natural red color instead of turning brown and dull like grocery store meat often does. You can really tell they take pride in the quality of what they sell!
Highly recommend if you’re looking for truly high-quality, grass-fed beef.”
“If you can find what you’re looking for on sale it’s probably worth it but alot of these prices are starting to just not make sense anymore. I realize it’s a convenience grocery store and that’s OK because it is convenient, but I just don’t buy everything from this spot as a lot of it’s quite unaffordable”

“The smoked meats in the display in front of the butchers counter are unbelievably good, consistent and just a food coma level of good. The cheddar brats and all the brats! Yum! Rare cultural delicacies like head cheese (I haven’t seen it since my grandmas kitchen) The back frozen section next to the rear door has the best frozen comfort foods, packaged in house.. onion rings, corn dogs, jalapeño poppers. I used to live nearby this treasure of a grocery/deli, but now I drive there from miles away. Comfort and or potluck/party food go to.? y’all at Everett’s”
“Bob's is an awesome place for catering an event. We had the fried chicken dinners for our dad’s funeral and everyone raved!! The church ladies also like working with you, which says a lot! It’s also a great place to pick up lunch or dinner or a do a quick grocery trip.”
“Great selection of produce and meats. A friend was lamenting one day about how they couldn't find fresh pearl onions. This co-op has them!
Lots of great snacks, bulk coffees for days, and friendly staff at checkout and behind their counters.”
“Fresh, local produce in what can be referred to as the food desert of North. The staff are nice. It can be a bit pricey, and sometimes things will be out of stock, but I am so glad to have them in the neighborhood. They also host events such as zumba, makers markets, and community outreach programs.”
“We bought a family pack thats prepackaged in the carry bag. So far, we've been happy with the burgers, but tonight we opened up the ribeye and was extremely disappointed. About 50% of it was hard fat and needed to be cut off. I wish we could have saw what was being packaged before buying it, but I guess that's a risk you run. Keep in mind, I still left about 10% of fat on the steak, but having nearly half of it not eatable made us alter dinner plans so my wife and I could get more than a few bites of steak.
Check your pre package meats so you dont buy stuff like this.

“After living in the Lyndale Lake neighborhood for decades, I checked out Valerie’s store. I was blown away by the wide variety of amazing produce, meats, beans, rice, dried peppers and other specialty items. I highly recommend Valerie’s. It’s a great place to get groceries.”

“Just had breakfast here the Chicken Suqaar and it was awesome! Very flavorful. I had it with the Malwah and somali spiced tea. The tea in particular was out standing a sweet chai. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. Give this place a try. Can't wait to go back.”

One of the highlights of Dragon Star Supermarket is undoubtedly the hot food area. You can easily spend a significant amount of time browsing the aisles and discovering new products.
My family loves Dragon Star Supermarket! The diverse selection of international foods and spices is particularly appealing. It's also been a staple for us, especially because it makes it easier to find a variety of African staple foods for my grandma to enjoy.
It's also worth noting that, although I haven't personally experienced any issues, some friends of mine have mentioned the importance of checking the expiration dates on the spices they might be expired or covered with a different expiration date.
This is a good practice to follow in general, and Dragon Star Supermarket seems to provide a good selection of international products, including spices.”

“We’ve been members for as long as I can remember. Great small co-op with excellent local selections. They’ve done a lot over the past few years to stock products that are price-accessible, though overall the selections are a little on the expensive side. The deli section never disappoints. The staff are always friendly and attentive.(The Hungarian mushroom soup was the best, but they haven’t had it for a couple years now!)”

Not to mention the quality of meat that you get and there's so many different surprises that you find in here besides just steaks and beef.
