My husband and I have been there twice now for breakfast and had a great experience each time. The food and service have been great. Unfortunately I have a lot of Mayo Clinic appointments due to a cancer diagnosis but when we get a chance, we enjoy stopping at the honker.

Busy Midwestern style restaurant. I won't call them Canadian, there wasn't maple syrup on everything. They did have the best Walleye on my visit. I went with the sandwich, which was big, juicy and well cooked. The onion rings were damn near perfect. She had the chicken a la Richie, which was really good too, but there was nothing *light about that cream sauce. Convenient 5min walk from our hotel.

The food and service were good. It is a bit on the pricey side but acceptable because of the increasing cost of food ingredients.

This place is amazing. The Reuben and walleye sandwich especially! Burgers are enormous and they have pretty decent specials including Friday night AYCE Walleye and Shrimp. My only suggestion is they need to slice the roast beef for the open faced sandwich thinner...but the taste of everything is soooo good. 5 Stars across the board.

Parking: Behind restaurant and across street

For a restaurant that is located on busy 2nd Street in Rochester the Canadian honker has easy parking behind the restaurant and also a lot that’s across the street. Walking into Canadian honker there is a cozy and homey feeling. The service was spectacular and the food was delicious. No take-home boxes were needed. We stopped in for breakfast and I had a lumberjack with French toast. I will definitely be back.

I usually stop a few times a month for dinner when I've worked through lunch and just want something quick. Last night I picked up my usual and added a bowl of (what was supposed to be potato soup), it was a bowl of flour broth, with one chunk of potato. Then to top it off, my roast beef dinner was a thin slice of tough meat. Usually this is one of my go to restaurants, but the last few times I've stopped for take out, it's been so bad I've had to cook something myself. Not to mention it cost $27..outrageous.

I don't enjoy writing a negative review..but feel compelled to do so. We have enjoyed past visits to the Canadian Honker during our trips to Mayo Clinic over the years..but yesterdays experience was really disappointing. We were meeting friends that we hadn't seen in a number of years..and said we would met them at the CH. First of all, I want to say that the service provided by our server Christopher, was excellent..he couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. After not having Liver and Onions for many years, my wife and I couldn't wait to order it. When it arrived, it was over cooked, very thin slices..and with what appeared to be blackened grease spots all over it..which I can only assume was from being prepared on a grill that had not been scraped. On another positive note, the dessert was very good ,parking was convenient.. and the atmosphere pleasant. Sadly.. we will probably not be returning in the near future.
