Terri was absolutely wonderful at Stride Rite. She got our son in shoes that fit around his brace. These are the first shoes we have been able to find him that fit him properly with his brace on. She even knew how to add extra insole into his other shoe without a brace. She absolutely is who to go to if your child has an AFO/SMO. We are from Texas and we’re seeing a specialist at the Mayo Clinic and from now on I will only be going to Terri when my son needs shoes. She is even going to help us order sizes throughout the year while we are in Texas. Her love of children is so evident, I just can’t say enough positive things about our experience.

Outstanding customer service everytime we stop in to the store! The owner, Terri is wonderful, she has been so warm and knowledgeable about sizing, styles and fit. There punch card program is a huge perk. This is the only place I shop for kids shoes!

Never buying kids shoes anywhere else! Prices are right on par with the big box stores, but their quality, selection, and service are far above the rest!

I love this store. My children have wide feet so hard to find them shoes somewhere else. last time the pair of shoes my child was fitted with didn't wear right, rubbed his pinkies raw. We came back in and were fitted with a new pair. I only had to pay the difference between the price of the shoes. Excellent service.

We had a wonderful experience and won’t be buying shoes from anywhere else!! They measured our 14 month old son’s feet and explained why they were recommending the fit / styles that they selected. They were incredibly patient with helping him try on the shoes and checking the fit each time. Our son was much more comfortable walking in these properly fit shoes than anything we have tried on our own. We live in Seattle and were in Rochester to see family; we plan on incorporating shoe purchases into all of our future visits so we can continue to work with the staff at Stride Rite!!

We don’t live in Rochester anymore, but with family in the area, I always plan a stop to Schmidt Stride Rite during one of my visits. Great customer service and true understanding of kids. One of my kids did NOT like shoes and threw a fit and rip them off anytime we tried. They were so patient through the fitting and even got her to walk and ring the bell on the door before we left. Before you knew it, I couldn’t get the shoes off of her.

it is the only place I have gotten shoes for my almost 4 year old. he has wide feet and they always take the time to get the right fit. they are also don't mind waiting for him to pick his favorite one.

LOVE THIS PLACE. They measure my kids feet everytime so make sure it's always the right fit, they bring out and display all the relevant choices and best of all, they keep records of all my kids sizes so if I forget I can call and ask them when my in laws ask me and I don't know haha. They also have a punch card where you get rewards after spending X amount of money which is easy with 3 kids. The owner is awesome and it's the only place we get our kids shoes.

They were super busy but still very helpful, kind, and knowledgable. I found a good quality, wide pair of shoes my toddler needed. They have an awesome clearance section. They also have a punch card incentive program.

This place is a Gem! I have a daughter who has a wide foot, making it hard to find shoes for her. While visiting from out of town we stopped in and got the best customer service I have ever gotten! They measured her foot and showed me options and were so great with her. Being from out of town they told me how I can work with them to order shoes when she needs the next size up as I have a hard time finding wides for her. I will for sure be a shopper forever and can’t wait to see what shoes she gets when her feet get bigger! If you haven’t stopped by and shopped here it’s a must!!!!

The best children's shoe store in Rochester, period. Every single employee is helpful, kind, and great with children. We always find what we need for every season, and they've gone above and beyond during COVID to ensure we stay safe and healthy and able to get shoes in a way that's comfortable for our family (delivery or curbside pickup has been so convenient!) They even sanitized my credit card when they gave it back to me. It's apparent how much they care about their customers. We won't shop anywhere else!

During my visit at Schmitts Stride Rite, I was completely in awe and disgusted by how their COVID19 precautions were entirely disregarded and not enforced by staff. There was no social distancing or capacity limits set in place, despite how small the store actually is. There was absolutely no enforcement on wearing masks and unfortunately I witnessed multiple costumers without masks as well. I highly reccomend to stay away from this establishment as it has shown that the priority of the children's safety is not a priority for them.

I've had quite a few experiences shoes shopping in Minnesota/online and I have to say, Schmitt's Stride Rite the best shoe store I've experienced to date. It is a local/family owned business in Rochester, Minnesota and the staff is always very friendly and dedicated to getting the exact right shoe, boot, sandal, crocs etc. for your children. They specialize in children's widths, tailor to 1/2 sizes as well as everything in between!! Not much they can't do. Thanks again! Support Local!
