Booked 1 night for myself and my teenage daughter. Room was definitely no frills -which is fine, I am not fussy- however, there were dead flies (not just 1) on the TV stand and the refrigerator was brown on the inside. Thin bedding, again no-frills, I get it. There was a gentleman in a pickup in the parking lot just staring at us, looked like a possible worker, not sure? Anyway, it made my daughter very uncomfortable. We were there about 15 minutes, then left to stay at a hotel in Rochester. I asked for a refund, but was told "no-sorry". If you are concerned about cleanliness AT ALL I would recommend avoiding.

There was a time after WWII when these "Mom & Pop" motels dotted the Defense Highway System (US Routes) and were a mainstay of American travel. This was one of those, and this was the second time we've stayed there. With a few upgrades, like simply tightening down the toilet seats, and upgrades to the flooring and carpet, it could easily earn a 4 or even 5 star rating. Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable. We stayed there over a Memorial Day fishing trip to the Driftless Region, and there were still rooms open (We had a reservation.) The price was great. The motel is less than 10 miles from the fly-fishing mecca of Whitewater State Park, and 30 miles from the Root River. The new owners seem to be doing all they can to improve the place, and we will most likely stay there on future trips to Whitewater and the Driftless Region.

This is one of two motels in town. There are several good features about the motel and one or two negatives. If you are visiting the Winona County Fair, the location is perfect. It is just a walk across the street. There is a nice antique store behind the motel. The room was very clean. A remote control adjusts the air conditioner. There are several restaurants across the street. There are signs of wear. Breakfast isn't included in room price, but there is a coffee shop across the road. The negative is the bathroom. The claustrophobic shower doesn't allow someone to bend over and the warped bathroom door doesn't close completely.

Wouldn’t recommend. Heater didn’t work well and it was cold in the room. Very basic. The assistant was very polite and did his best with what he was equipped with.

Great service, the attendant that night was awesome, got us firewood for a bonfire , cleaned up the area . and even had a cigar with us. Rooms were dated but very comfortable. For the price couldn't be beat.

Staff very friendly and Scott went out of his way being hospitable with getting a bon fire going for us and bringing us wood. Obviously not the Taj Mahal and needs updates but you got a place to lay your head.

Wish I could give zero stars! The room smelled like urine, it had stains on the bed and bedding. I immediately got back in my car, contacted the manager and let him know that the room was disgusting and that I would not be staying. Now I’m having to have my bank dispute the charges because he refused to give me my money back for a dirty room with dirty mattresses dirty bedding and smelled as though the carpets were soaked in urine. I ended up sleeping at a truckstop and that was better! Do not stop at this motel!!!!!!!!

My husband and I were camping at Whitewater State Park, which had no cell service. While in town shopping, I got a call that both my parents tested positive for Covid and were not doing very well. We decided to look for a place to stay, so we would have phone service and drive home in the morning.I saw the White Valley Motel across the street. I called to see if they had a room available. They did, so we went there and paid $116. for the room. The employee on duty walked us to the room and opened the door for us because he stated the door is tricky to open. We walked in the room and got a call that my dad was being hospitalized. We decided to just leave and drive home. So, in a matter of 5 minutes, we went back to the office to explain to the employee we couldn't stay because my father was in the hospital.HE REFUSED TO GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK! VERY POOR!We are in the process of disputing the charge with our credit card company. The merchants response was that we were informed of their cancellation policy and that we inspected the room before paying. Both statements are not true.Just giving anyone out there a heads up.Probably not a good place to do business with. And the carpet was really stained and there was a nasty smell.

Not terrible, pros: has microwave mini fridge, and coffee maker. Double beds with a wall dividing them which was nice. Pet friendly, a few swings in front yard area. Cons: Sheets were not clean. Shower sprayed straight out, with no way to angle down, so floor got very wet. Expensive pet deposit.
