Where to begin, my wife and I reserved a suite at the Best Western Plus Como Park Hotel and it was a living hell. Not enough parking for the hotel, overflow was 2 blocks away. Hot tub was colder than the pool, TV in the bedroom had no cable so there was zero TV, the batteries were taped into the remote. Food from the previous guest still on the cabinets. Stains on the carpet which looked like blood, also on the curtains. Dozens of unattended kids running down the halls, knocking on doors and kicking walls. Desk personnel could not take control of the hotel to the point we had to walk out. Biggest waste of money, EVER!! Never again and stay away!Rooms: See pictures, dirty and disgusting!

It is what it is. Rooms are okay, but some light fixtures and lamps didn't work or turn on. The bathroom door has a lock that didn't lock so what's the point. Our room was too small to have two queen beds put into it, but whatever.Front desk manager said there was a $20 deposit for incidentals that we would get back at the end of our stay. He offered us a shuttle ride back from the overflow parking lot and we accepted. We were charged $18 at 1am in the morning for the shuttle. To top it off, when we left in the morning, they only had one person working at the desk, so he "couldn't" possibly shuttle us, even though we were already charged the $18.Breakfast was not topped off either.

Place is overall clean. The whole building still has a smell about it that is indicative of its former use. Understaffed, with nothing at the front desk to get the attention of someone to help you.I came in with a colleague, and somehow, whether due to the inexperience of the staff member at the front desk, or due to faults in their system, we stood at the front desk for around about ten minutes while booking issues were sorted out. I understand the inconvenience of being new to a job, but calling a manager for help earlier than later would have been the better choice. Upon getting a room key, map, and directions around the building, I could hardly make out anything the front desk agent said because of pure tight-lipped mumbling; a very hard to understand speaking voice, and not for lack of volume.Parking, luckily, was not an issue for me as I came in early enough that most patrons were not checked in for the night. But don't expect to find any parking by the time 7pm rolls around.I nearly live on the road, so I needed somewhere to do laundry. This hotel facility has NONE. No where on the premises will you find a guest laundry. This is the first hotel I've ever stayed in without one.Even in my room on the second floor, and throughout the whole building, you can smell the chlorine of the pool, which happens to be wide open in the lobby. Very echo-y as well, so you will hear kids and adults talking in the pool throughout the lobby and into your room-- oddly enough from my exterior window or maybe my ceiling vent next to it. I'm not sure.Regardless, I'm glad I haven't had what could have easily been a worse experience here, but the thought of ever risking that possibility again will probably keep me from coming back.Noteworthy details: No guest laundry facilities. Sound carries through the building very easily. Not recommended for people trying to sleep during the day.

Hospitality is not on the vocabulary of the night time staff. All i did was ask for an extra blanket. He said, sorry, there's no housekeeping so I can't get you anything. ... Really. I doubt that. He had to get off his phone to come to the desk. Seemed like i was bothering him. Won't stay again. Loved the old train station architecture. No parking. Poorly lit area to be walking back to the hotel from over a block away....?

It's a great hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, having the hotel in an old train depot makes for some fun architectural flourishes, and the rooms are extremely quiet and comfortable. But the parking is a whole other story. There are about 15 -20 spots in front of the hotel, and if those are taken (which they almost always are), then you have to park in the spillover lot which is about a block and a half away. I was there in September and all I had to deal with was walking to my car in the rain. I can't imagine staying there during a Minnesota winter in January or February and having to traverse snow, ice, and frigid temps just to get to your parked car.

Location was good everything else was pretty bare minimum. Didn’t seem to understand a “room block” very well. I’ve also tried to contact the manager for a week with the response of she will check her email and call you back I promise. I have been working in hospitality for years I just had a few recommendations to make large group stays easier for this hotel team.

Stayed on family vacation. Jericho was at the desk to check us in. He was very professional and informative. His costumer service was fantastic! Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and hot each morning; I will say that the area is a little small when there is an eventstaying there (wedding). The pool was ok. I think it was a little cold to be a heated pool, but it worked. I do think swimming in the evening or cloudy days, the pool area is a little dark with having a kid in the pool. There were times when I went to the front desk for something and had to wait a bit. It was never a super long time, but long enough to begin getting fustrated. However, I feel like with staff shortages, this is pretty normal. Overall the staff were helpful and nice.Parking... the parking lot is small and tight. The overflow lot is not that far away, but it is something to be aware of. I wish there was more of a sidewalk to and from, with having a child walk with us.

Pulled up the the hotel and my first thought was that the building looked abandoned! No parking, only 20 spots for the whole hotel and when they gave us a parking pass to park two blocks away we wake up the next day to our car towed! Had to pay $320 to get it back! When we got back to the hotel my room and my moms room get a call saying we need to leave the hotel and we were only booked for one night. We booked our stay almost a year in advance under a wedding room block and asked for a confirmation email multiple times and they couldn’t seem to figure it out. Every time our party would come the the bar area to get drinks the front desk guys would come over and yell at the bartender and everyone to close the bar and get out! Service was just overall awful very rude staff except for the one bartender!

We checked in and hurried off to the MN State Fair. When we got back we noticed the sheets on our bed ruffled, pulled the sheets back and there were stains from the previous guest. Checked the bathroom and no towels, tried to call the front desk and the phone didn't work in the room. This is where it got worse, the evening/nighttime staff were horrible. No training at all about hospitality. We were told the hotel was full and there was nobody to clean our room. So they wanted us to stay in a dirty room? We were offered we could wait till the next morning and then our room would be cleaned? I'm not sure how this is a solution. Was told they can't access housekeeping? They couldn't give us a single towel. This first started at 11:30PM, we were told check back at 1AM since some guests didn't show up yet. First night after a long drive and we're sitting in our dirty room waiting for the front desk. Remember our phone didn't work so they were going to come knock and let us know. It's now 1:15 and nobody shows up, went down to the desk and was told we now have to wait till 2AM. This whole time without an ounce of caring, each time the front desk person was annoyed they had to get off their phone to talk to us.Dirty place with staff that doesn't care, skip this place in case you actually need something they won't lift a finger.

Dumbest hotel design. Get here by 3 pm or there is no parking. Seriously, it has maybe 20-25 parking spots. So they send you two blocks over to park at another hotel. Dumbest design.Update: Had to use a hanger to keep the curtain closed to block the light from the outside as the curtain was broken. The newer LED touch temp control on the wall stays bright as in it's brighter than a nightlight so you can see clearly in the room. So if you need a dark room, this isn't for you.Rooms: Rooms are average. Clean, but comparable to a lower market hotel.

Check in was ok, room was clean. The TV and phone didn’t work. We told them we didn’t need a phone (it was unfixable) but we wanted the TV. I had to call twice it took almost 2 hours for someone to come to the room. While it had a microwave the plug did not reach the outlet. The pillows were awful!!! We actually almost bought new ones! The was no cleaning service, we had to ask for more towels. We did enjoy the train aspect. Check out was awful, we had to wake up the kid and he said he’d mail our email our receipt. It’s been 2 weeks and several phone calls were still waiting. They also double charged us, we’re still waiting on that to get fixed! And the parking lot was flooded fir mosey if our stay! And I mean deep!!Nearby activities: It was close to como park zoo.

Excellent service. Good clean rooms. Very helpful staff at check in. Jericho went above and beyond with information about the hotel, as well as restraints in the surrounding area.Check out was a little different. Rude service, pushy, to get you out, even when it came down to asking for a late check out, which they don't really have.
