This store expands from its original structure as I remember. They have more food and they are now more organized. Their seafood sections has been renovated as much more cleaner than before. The bathroom is where all the goods are and in the front row they have all the candies, so is a bit confused because all the food are not together. Their fresh meats, sometimes it's a hit or miss because some meat are changing color to blue brown, where, as some seems like freshly packed in new. I think there is nothing that you can't find in the store they have a lot of variety of ethnic food. The seafood counter offer, customer service, and sometime it's hard to find a worker that can help you locate things in the store. They have a couple lane of cashiers, which is good. Store is clean and nice but the organizations it's a little unorganized because some of the food and because are in different section of the stores. Their produce section is organized. They do have two restaurants in the store for Korean dogs and mochi donuts.. Parking sometimes in the weekend is a hassle. Because the parking is small. The store also has a jewelry or gold store in the front.

Great to get your Asian groceries and food! My boyfriend and I tend to get a little treat after we do our shopping! The food is so good!

My second favorite Asian grocery store this far. I love their selections of Asian vegetables and fruits. They have another floor that focuses on seasonings and ingredients, noodles and seafood. Huge bonuses that they also have a Korean hot dog and mochi spot within the store. They also have great selections of Asian frozen foods. Love it.

This was my first time visiting and wow it is huge! They had so many great things to see and buy. I went in for a rice cooker and came out with some snacks that look good. I didn't buy a rice cooker because they started at $50+ with no refunds which made me nervous in case it didn't work.*Bonus* they had so many kinds of seaweedthat I'll never buy that from Costco again.*

I really want to like this place, but they have one enormous problem: they hang sale signs above items that are not honored. They ring it up at the register for full price almost every single time. It's happened so many times over the years (definitely over 20 times), that at this point, I assume they're doing it on purpose. They know that people either aren't paying attention, or won't say anything. I've started going to Sun Foods more and more because they are much better about having their sales ring up correctly. It's a shame, because I like their selection of items for the most part, but posting fake sales is unacceptable thrifty behavior.

Really like going here and trying out new things. They have a ton of selection to choose from. Definitely one of the better Asian markets in the twin cities

rude staff workers. I called in and asked if they had blue crab and they said yes within 3 seconds. So I drove 30 minutes there only to find out there was none. I then called AGAIN to double check and they still proceeded to lie in my face and said there WAS blue crab. Mind you when they picked up it was in a extremely disrespectful manner. Before I could confront them and say anything about me driving there to find no blue crab, they hung up. I tried calling back multiple times and they didn’t pick up at all. Weird.

This store has a lot to offer -- there is a wide variety of fresh, good-looking produce, meat and fish products, and ingredients from a variety of cuisine including Phillipino and Latin American. It is easy to drive to after grocery shopping for staples (close to Target, Cub, and Aldi on University), and parking is ample. As someone who spends a lot of time cooking various Asian cuisine at home, I was delighted to find this store. Now, I debated for a while on posting this review because as you can see, I only rated it two stars. The reason why is because, on my second trip to Dragon Star, I was approached by the very friendly manager, Jack. He helped me find some of the ingredients I was looking for and struck up what I thought was a friendly conversation. That is, until he asked me some strange questions like "Where do you work?" and "How often do you work?" "Where do you live?" I started to feel really weird about it, I'm glad I didn't give any specific locations. I told him that it was nice to meet him and that it was time for me to get going, then he asked me out. To his credit, he did not push me further when I declined, but that interaction still left a bad taste in my mouth. I just wanted to go to the store and stock my pantry with some of my favorite ingredients. I thought the interaction was going to be a friendly customer-employee conversation. Unfortunately, after this interaction, I no longer feel comfortable going to Dragon Star and will have to find another store to find my specialty ingredients. I don't want this guy to lose his job, but I think other young women should be aware that this is a possibility when going to this store.

This store is almost overwhelming. Produce is fresh, and I am picky. So many choices, prices are good, and the store is clean. I will definitely be shopping here more.

Love shopping here. Always find everything I need & more. They have a giant selection of fine rice, rice noodles, quality vinegars, sauces, treats, frozen mochi, frozen dumplings (though I prefer to make my own. ) Wraps. Seafood &. Fresh meats, fruits, veggies. Love fresh Lychee. Need to see if they carry it yet! Highly recommend.

There are closer Asian markets to me, but this is the one I go to. It is big enough that if you're looking for something you might need for anything remotely Asian-food related, you're as likely to find it here as anywhere in the Twin Cities. That even includes some kitchenware and appliances, but mostly it means every kind of rice, produce, meat, sauce, and frozen food item. Especially the latter! What really sweetens the deal is two counters they have in the front section: a Korean hot dog counter and a Soga mochi donut counter. Everything at those counters is tasty and made-fresh, and if you manage to get a big box of those mochi donuts and bring it to a party, you will definitely be the hero of that party. Unfortunately, ordering these items is challenging. Almost every time I come here, there is no one at the counters even though it's within their opening hours. Placing orders at these counters is annoying enough that I don't do it any more, but I'm told you can order the mochi donuts in advance somewhere on a website, and I'd recommend looking into that. I really don't like the parking lot. It's too small and a little scary. Just be careful when arriving & departing by car. It's never particularly clean, but in that area it compares with many large grocery stores that all of us would still patronize. If I were in charge I'd try to get better at that, but whatever; I'm still going to keep coming here for this stuff, and you should try it if you haven't!

I’m so happy I found this place. They have some of the freshest produce I’ve ever had and a huge selection of live seafood. One of the few places you can get Pork Belly w/ the skin on. They have an extremely impressive selection of different ethnic foods, sauces, and spices. If you are looking to make REAL AUTHENTIC HOMEMADE RAMEN, this should be your first stop.
