Place is a dump with rude staff. It's in such a crime ridden area, they won't even let people in the lobby or give access to the public skyway. Terrible.

Really beautiful woodwork and architecture it’s perfect if you want that old school historic vibe being in this hotel feels like the titanic or something it definitely an experience to have and remember.

An absolute dump. This review is for the hotel portion only.Elevators don’t work. We have to go up and down 12 flights of stairs (twice). Stairways not marked, not lit and several floors were blocked by power tools, cords etc…The rooms are very musty and dirty. Tiny sinks and toilets and rooms not stocked.Nobody who works for the hotel is there. They have a person that sits at the front desk, but they are very quick to tell you that they don’t work there. Beautiful venue, but don’t ever stay here.

Stayed here for a wedding. Currently no staff on premises and you get your code to get in and out of the building and room.Location is convenient to be in downtown St. Paul. Did not park a vehicle for my stay.Elevator was having major issues during stay. Was trapped on the 12th floor in the morning. No a/c on in the main parts so the hallways/elevators were hot. Room a/c worked thankfully.Bathrooms had step up to enter if you have mobility issues. Bed was on the firmer side. Room had fridge, microwave and kureg machine.

The guy was grumpy that checked us in but another front desk person we met was nice. We couldn’t use a gift card to pay for our room. I booked the king room on booking.com because it was cheaper than booking with the hotel. I liked the standard room better that we got the last time we stayed. Our room had a kitchen, dishes, wine glasses and mini fridge with freezer. We stayed for winter carnival and it was a perfect location. The hotel has the top floors of the building. St. Paul athletic club has an awesome dry and wet sauna and really nice facilities. Nice free breakfast but bring your own cup/mug since they only have disposable options. They had recycling bin in the room which was a nice touch. The housekeeping staff were very nice. We love this hotel.

Joe (with a bow) at the front desk is an amazing person, so friendly and welcoming. I got my room upgraded for free, so that was a pretty nice bonus to my stay. The room was well-maintained for being in such an antique-looking building, the door had an actual key and lock which was quite charming. The fitness center was good-sized and clean/well-maintained. The hotel is within easy walking distance of lots of good restaurants. Overall, the whole experience was probably one of the best I've ever had at a hotel, would definitely stay here again.

So charming! Love the character of the old building. We stayed two nights in December and had a good time. I just thought there were a few things they could have done a little better. The cover for the bathroom light was missing. Our key cards didn't ever work when they locked the doors at night so we always had to buzz the front desk to get in. The fridge was not cold. I turned it up, but it didn't get any colder. The ice "machine" was a Rubbermaid wheelbarrow and was normally ice water when we wanted ice - please spend a little money on a machine! Some of the rooms are very small and some are pretty big. The lobby is beautiful and there's a nice sitting area on the 10th floor.

The hotel was beautiful. 5/5 for the architecture. I attended a wedding here, and no decorations or flowers were used because the hotel is so beautiful. It used to be a gentleman's club back in the... 60s? 70s? 80s? Now it's converted to a hotel. The staff was Friendly, but not very helpful. I was having issues with the TV, so I called to ask, and they said they had no idea why it wasn't working and it didn't seem like they wanted to help. The morning breakfast had no ice water, and when I asked they said "usually we have water, but we couldn't find a container to put it in, sorry". I am not joking, they didn't put out ice water because they couldn't find a pitcher for the water. The food attendent who was in charge of putting out food when it got low was sitting on a chair, on her phone. They were polite enough, just not very helpful.Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

Very beautiful old hotel. Love the mail chute so primitive. Unfortunately our room, my birthdate, 1217 is tiny. Well not the room But the bed was tiny and shoved in between two walls making me fell claustrophobic! I should of taken a photo but I was so tired I just tried to rest. It was definitely not for two grown adults. I had a hard time getting in and out of bed because they also had a huge nightstand positioned on the one side so you basically had to scooch to the bottom of bed to get out. It was clean room. Continental breakfast was fine. Lots of toiletries and kitchen sink and kurig to make coffee. I think it also had a small fridge. I would have preferred a larger bed and not all the other stuff. Sleep and convince of the green line is the only reason why we stayed here. Love the beautiful door to get to the walkway system from the 2nd floor. Too cool. The pool and gym are awesome as well. Adult only so you don't need to worry about kids slashing and crying.

Front desk had no idea on the parking cost or discount when asked. Heads up gang - it’s a flat $17 per night. Glad I could help. Rooms are in drastic need of updating, sink and plumbing has drains don’t work and back up, TV connection with cable was horrible. It was spotty and losing signal a lot. Breakfast is the most absolute joke of all - essentially muffins and toast and one crappy flavor of coffee. Very, very, very disappointed at the potential and cost of staying here versus what they deliver. Don’t stay here. Hampton Inn would be an upgrade.

Absolutely love this hotel. I stayed for 10 days in the king room and honestly I never want to leave! Such a beautiful and comfortable room. Todd at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that I did not find the staff working the continental breakfast friendly. The lady working was on her phone yelling the whole time and had the waffle maker shut off and cleaned up 30 minutes before breakfast ended. But honestly, other than that, perfect stay.
