Whenever I am traveling through the MSP Airport, I stop into this delightful little bookstore. The employees are actually readers who can provide information and qualified suggestions about their books, and although small, they have a remarkably wide range of fiction and nonfiction sections. Although obviously they charge full cover price, anyone devoted to supporting physical bookstores should shop here.

I will find my way to this wonderful store anytime I have a layover in MSP. I zeroed in on the children’s section and was dazzled by the exceptional selection of reading materials as well as activity books and art supplies. Wish I would have had more time!

Such a cute shop with tons of new books, popular and new releases and lots of novelty items. I browsed it for at least 15 minutes. You can find something for kids and adults. Puzzles, toys, journals, markers, books, clothing etc

One thing I hate about flights back or even from Fort Wayne (airport I fly home to) is that the planes never have any entertainment options on them. You either have to sleep or read. So i needed a book to read on my flight and saw Open Book, while I was exploring Terminal 1 at MSP airport. The bookstore is quite wonderful and large for an airport bookstore. Plenty of different genres available, and I decided to buy a book which had a collection of H.P Lovecraft's Eldritch Horror. Was this perhaps the wisest book to buy and read at night and one a plane? Probably not, but still it did the job of keeping my attention throughout the flight back. Still have some left for my next flight back in the future. The shop also has cool little decorations and gifts, if you need to get something last minute for friends/family on your travels.

DO NOT COME HERE!! Awful customer service. Came to talk about an issue I had with a book and was met with no help and was told to go “tell the airport police about it or do nothing” because they couldn’t help. I even brought the receipt to no avail. I spent 30$ for a book I couldn’t even read. Employee on duty was an older man with glasses and very unkept facial hair.

I can't speak to the book selection. I don't mind paying full price at an airport for books. I like supporting smaller, local places. I lost my reading glasses so I decided to buy a pair when I walked past their display. The price is not listed on the Eyewear and the associate offered to tell me before I took them to the register but I thought I needed them so I'd pay $20 or $40.... They rang up at $80. Even by airport standards. They should ticket the price on them if they're going to be marked up that much

A visual pleasure to peruse the wonderful selection of books for all ages. The journals and notebooks for sale are also unique and beautiful.

Open Book is a very nice bookstore, especially by Airport standards. I spent several minutes there yesterday looking around and making a purchase. At the same time I found this Open Book/Milkweed to be a bit generic compared to what I've experienced at the original MN Center for Book Arts complex on Washington Avenue Downtown. This place includes the Shop at MCBA (which features some amazing artist made books and where I purchased my first Richard Stephens calendar years ago), the original Milkweed Books, a nice coffee shop, and a vibrant literary community center. I've been there 3 times already this year, including yesterday before I drove to MSP. It's worth the trip if you have time.

Terrific little book (and gift) shop in the MSP airport, nice displays and it was good to see a nice-sized kids section; I wasn't looking for children's books, but kids really need to do more reading!!! I wish I had more time, but do stop in and get a book for your flight or a few to bring home.

With some spare time on the ground at MSP, I took the time to browse my way through Open Book which is in one of the big shopping concourses near the security checkpoints. This is a large bookstore and they have a tremendous selection of fiction, nonfiction, periodicals and book-related accessories. As well, a smaller number of snacks in case you don't want to stop somewhere else. Books are at full retail cover price, so if you're looking to spend a bit then this is a good spot. They're brand new (not used) so that's nice. [Review 10537 overall, 304 of 2019.]
