Jogged through the airport to make it to this store in time between stopovers; the salesman was a joy, merchandise plentiful, and hearing Prince over the stereo system was a good burst of brain+ear magic before I headed back to my flight home.

This shop is located on the other side of the airport. You will need to take the tram and get off at sky mall...and walk...which was only a 10 minute walk. Robin was phenomenal. She took some pics of me inside and outside of the store and gave me some great insight when I return back for another visit. It was cute store. Take a peek if you have time!

Everything Prince on Terminal 1 MSP Mall"Dearly beloved We are gathered here today to get through this thing called "life"... "I had no idea that there was a Prince store (inside the airport, at that) dedicated to Prince, a multi-talented American musician of my generation... singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer, dancer, and performer on keyboards, drums, and bass. "Dream, if you can, a courtyardAn ocean of violets in bloomAnimals strike curious posesThey feel the heatThe heat between me and you..."I walked in just looking around. The shop paid tribute to a beloved local Minnesotan legend. I was transported back in the '80's when I saw photos of him, the merchandise and collectibles... the store celebrated Prince and his career through music, shirts, jackets, music (CD/vinyl), books, mugs, logo baseball hats, accessories, airplane travel pillows, art prints, and posters. It was like a little museum because the store also displayed samples of Prince's handwritten lyrics from his Sign of the Times album and one of his guitars. "I never meant to cause you any sorrowI never meant to cause you any painI only wanted one time to see you laughing..."Located at Terminal 1 in the main mall at the south end of the airport... just a short distance from the TSA checkpoint. Looking forward to visiting Paisley Park with the hubby... thank you to Robin (salesperson) who shared tips about the tour at Prince's Estate."Say say Two-thousand-zero-zero party over Oops out of time So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999..."Are you able to name the songs by Prince in this review?Review #3186

Now that there's a Garrett's Popcorn in Chicago's Midway Airport (my gift to those who were unaware), there's really only one airport store I'd plan travel around, and this one is it!

As a Prince fan, this was a pleasant surprise. I visited First Avenue and it was not open but on the way home I ran into this place just past security. Nice set of memorabilia and I couldn’t walk away without buying a shirt!

Just an FYI, you have to go through security to get to this store, I drove 3 1/2 hours to shop here because I was told otherwise

So exciting to see a Prince store in the airport. Don't want to date myself but I saw Prince in 1985 and he was amazing. Loved this store. The older lady working the floor was super friendly and informative.

The first time I saw this Prince Store, I was browsing at Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) Airport. I didn't have a chance to go into this store to peruse, as I had spent a lot of time browsing at other stores that I ran out of time. This store is next door to the north security checkpoint. I typically go through south security, so it was a decent walk northbound. I had a flight to catch, so I looked at the storefront and headed to my gate.Earlier this month, I had the opposite scenario. I had an evening flight out. I had just cleared north security. I got a notification that my flight was cancelled.I am a seasoned traveller in this scenario. I didn't panic. I didn't immediately fetch my luggage. Rather, after having cleared north security (it's closer to Delta gates), I saw this store. I quietly said to myself, "I've already cleared security. I might as well check out this store."And, so, I did. I walked in to peruse.Prince was born in Minneapolis. I still need to visit Paisley Park in Chanhassen where he resided and recorded his music. It's nice that if you can't do a tour of Paisley Park, you can visit this store to get your Prince fix.You can get everything from Prince mugs to sweatshirts. He loved purple. I love purple and his music. What's not to love?Okay, maybe some of the prices here. The hoodies and t-shirts were rather steep in price. You're looking at nearly $50 for a t-shirt. Yikes!I am oddly into caps these days. I got a purple Prince cap with the nicest embroidery of his sign on it. It's comfortable to wear and was much more affordable in price. There were some discounts in the store. You could get a couple of branded drinking glasses for $25. You just have to be careful hauling glass with you.I appreciated seeing some Prince memorabilia at the store. Seeing his handwritten lyrics for "Starfish & Coffee" that he wrote with New Power Generation was cool. His cursive was nice!I had a male staffer cash me out. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. He put my cap in a purple (of course!) plastic bag and wished me a nice evening. I reciprocated.I sat down to take care of lodging and car rental details. I then headed to baggage claim to fetch my luggage.I'm glad that I stopped by this store. It did make heading to the airport more worthwhile than simply going through security and immediately leaving thanks to a cancelled flight. I'd return again.(74)

Amazingly cool little store right in the airport that you can pick up some Purple Rain and feel the spirit of the artist formally known as Prince.

A fun stop if you happen to be flying out of MSP. Clothing, LPs, CDs and various nik knacks. Check it out if you are waiting for a flight.

The Prince Store is fine, I guess. If there were ever to be a brand ambassador for Minneapolis it would have to be Prince, right? Maybe Mary Tyler Moore? Kirby Puckett? I mean George Floyd is now the most famous Minneapolis resident but that certainly isn't the energy or imagery the city would want to enrobe itself in so let's call it Prince -- he has his own store in the airport so he wins. Oh and Bob Dylan is from Duluth. This store is located exactly where you would expect it (at the MSP airport) and stocks just about anything anyone could ever imagine slapping the Prince font logo or his face across from guitar picks to vintage physical media formats such as CD and Vinyl and all at complete obscene prices. To give you an idea a graphic tee sells for $45.00 here. No joke. I think the location is a bit unfortunate as an airport terminal is probably not the first thing that would come to anyone's mind when you mention Prince and I have to wonder if this wouldn't make more sense if it were located downtown near 1st Avenue, somewhere in Uptown or on Lake Street. Hell, even Paisley Park would make more sense. That said, if you are looking to drop hundreds on that complete Prince discography or want to post a selfie of you smiling next to that weird logo he became in the 1990's on Instagram, this place is here for you.
