We called Ruth Ann in panic. A small business partnership I was part of had closed and, a few years after closing, we were told that we might owe unexpected back taxes. Ruth Ann did a solid assessment of the situation and talked us through the steps we needed to take in order to challenge the penalties. She gave clear direction on tax law, appropriate response, and appropriate behavior. I would guess that she gets a lot of those emotional panic calls and she responded professionally and compassionately. Throughout our process with the IRS, she continued to hold that mix of professional clarity and care, answering any and all questions we might have and helping us to arrive at a positive solution.
