It's very gorgeous here, just like the entire north shore. It's worth adding to your list of stops. It is 5 dollars to park but we'll worth it.

Absolutely beautiful! Got a tip from Pete in the nature center where to find the most breathtaking views and man was he right! Highly recommend hitting the whole mile around!

Another neat place to learn a little history of the area and the environment around here. They have a nature center and office on-site. We were there on a rainy Tuesday, and they let us know they do more activities planned on Wednesdays and Thursdays. They have informational signs around talking about the logging of the past, the impact on the land, now primarily red pines and birch trees, and trying to fill in with firs and more pines as the birch reach their end of life. You can get to the shoreline, as well as out on the peninsula a bit.

Beautiful spot with paths through the woods and an awesome little beach to walk around on. Going out on the rocks surrounded by the water you feel like you're in a different place.

This Nature Center is a wonderful way to experience a wide array of what the North Shore has to offer! There is a nice variety of short trails plus a nice expanse of ledge rock for sitting. There is also a nice long cobblestone shoreline and a beautiful rock point to be explored. And the view of the sunset from the rock point is spectacular!

This place was stunning. We came here with our pup in the third week of October. We took the nature trail around which eventually brings you to an amazing natural beach. We learned you can also short cut that and go directly past the nature center to the beach if you don’t want OT do that longer loop. The 1st day we came here it was a calm sunny day. We ended up coming back on one of our last days bc the weather was moodier and I wanted to see the waves which did not disappoint. I would come back here every chance I get. The only thing is I recommend paying your $5 parking in the drop box/cash. I used the QR code thing the first day and noticed it actually changed me $10.

Visited on a Monday, visitors center was closed so a bit of a "do it yourself" experience. Go all the way out to the end of the peninsula! The waves are great. Well worth the $5 parking fee.

This was the perfect easy hike for our dogs. Trail wasn’t too difficult, we were able to walk the shoreline and be in the water, and made it out onto the peninsula. The volcanic and glacier rock was really awesome when you get around to the east side of the peninsula. The views up-close don’t disappoint, even on our rainy hike the lake and shore were beautiful!

We found this gem while taking a spontaneous trip to Minnesota's coastline for the day. We arrived during a presentation of bird banding. It was very informative and interactive. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Helen who is one of the volunteers there. Make sure you say, "Hello" to her. We highly recommend visiting Sugarloaf cover! It's a beautiful place to explore. Make sure to visit their beach and the little island.

It was closed but the instructions and pathways are simple too good. Breath taking views of the lake and quick access to the beach. This is probably one of the best locations to visit in North shore area.

I have been to this area more times than I can count but didn't realize what this was until today. Amazing place, to much cover in one visit. We plan to come back later in the week for bird banding

Very cool place to stop and learn a little bit about the history of the place! The 1 mile interpretive trail tells you all you need to know about the area, the plants that live here and more!
