Prettiest and best kept marina in Minnesota (in my humble opinion). Quiet, clean, friendly staff, and the location is phenomenal.

Silver Bay Marina is a very clean and organized Marina. This is where the GLSPS keeps their Research Vessel, the RV Preservation, which I am one of the three Captains.

Great staff and very nice marina amenities all for a reasonable rate. The views were spectacular and the walks nearby are worth exploring. The morning sunrise is one I will never forget, you’ll have to see it in person.

This was our second year staying for a couple weeks at Silver Bay Marina. The marina is excellent, clean, and the staff is always super friendly. We stayed as a transient slip both years, (over 4th of July) and the fireworks Silver Bay puts on can be seen right from your boat! The marina has really nice hot showers and laundry machines. I could say a second washer would be helpful for the two dryers to make laundry go faster. (It's neither here or there.) The staff recently put lighting out on all the docks and up to the clubhouse so it's well lit at night - last year I tripped in the dark close to the clubhouse. There is a fuel dock and it's a 15 minute, by boat, drive to see Split Rock. Alternately this marina is really in the middle of it all! Lutsen is about 15 minutes north, Grand Marais is about 45. Two harbors is also about 35 minutes south. So many hikes from SHT within 30 minutes in either direction. But really the views just at the marina are breathtaking by themselves and you won't be disappointed staying here.
