“In February of 2018 the check engine light of my 07 Chevy Avalanche came on suddenly and the engine began to idle rough. I took it straight to the shop. Long story short, the 5.3 L engine was blown with a little less than 150k miles.The mechanic said he could replace it with a rebuilt engine that was identical. I decided to look on the internet first. Glad I did. First, I saw pages and pages of websites complaining about that particular year model 5.3 engine and the issues with it. Second, I found that for the same price as the rebuilt 5.3, i could get a performance 5.7 from Schwanke Engines. It was an easy decision.Customer service was great. Tiffany made sure I knew what was happening and the engine shipped right away. During the install i sent my control unit to them to be programmed too. Super fast turn around.I have had the engine installed for going on 2 years now. It has about 8k miles on it and it runs like a champ. I added some headers, Borla exhaust and a CAI. The truck will get up and run! Can't tell you how fast because the speedometer only goes up to 120 mph. lolI would highly recommend Schwanke. I am currently looking for a project car my son can drive. We will be ordering again from them.”
