1. Contact SunShare. 2. Get a Quote. Consider signing up. I am a client of Sunshare and it truly could not be easier to go solar. Zero money down unless their policy has changed. All you have to do is sign a docusign document which takes about 5 minutes and then agree that electricity will be needed by you and your family for the next 25 years. Every year, I get a check from Xcel Energy for approximately $1,300 because solar panels cost less to operate than coal and nuclear. So basically, I am making money on the contract every single month due to the reduction in kilowatt hour charges versus Xcel Energy. All for $0 down, $0 monthly charge and 5 minutes of my time once at the start of the contract. Complete no brainer. Not to mention that I am not responsible for any maintenance or repairs of the solar panels. I just got a quote for installation of solar panels on my house to cover all of my energy needs and it was $41,000 as of late 2023. Although I could elect to install solar panels in addition to being a Sunshare client to make more energy and eventually money, I do not have to as I have a solar farm handling everything for me offsite.

SunShare has been fantastic so far. Our service started toward the beginning of the summer, and we've love it for the first 8 months or so. We had looked into solar for our homes, and it's great that we're still able to help the environment but in a much more attainable fashion that with tradition solar.

We signed up some time ago and, while it took several months for them to get up and going, we've had their service for several months now. I'm always looking to support renewable energy and the cost is very similar to our old Xcel bill. Plus, now we have credits from Xcel which, so the customer service rep told me on the phone, we will get back as a check once a year in the spring so I'm looking forward to that!

Super easy setup—we really didn’t even have to think about it. Love seeing a negative balance on my other electric bill, and it’s comforting to know I’m doing something to offset fossil fuels. I need to do more but it’s a start. Investing in clean energy tech now makes it more approachable to everyone else in the future too!

Wanting to help the environment does require effort. One easy way to do *something* without doing *anything*, is signing up for SunShare (where available). In Minneapolis, I only had to digitally sign a few forms, wait for service to be available, and I offset some of my energy needs with solar along with saving money on my electric bill. The process initially sounded confusing to me, but calling support was very informative. Sign up if you can, reduce some fossil fuels, and save money.

I have wanted to use renewable energy for quite a while, but we were unable to put solar panels on our home. When the opportunity came to join SunShare, we were onboard with the idea. It was easy to sign up, and our Xcel bill started showing a credit shortly after the community solar garden went live. Very happy with the service!

I signed up for SunShare because I'm trying to incrementally make over how I live to be more environmentally friendly. The process was easy, customer service has been responsive, and I felt gratified just to have done it. And then came the icing on the cake: affordable costs and by now, a few months in, I'm starting to see credits on my Xcel bill. Talk about win-win. Very satisfied with my experience!

SunShare has been the perfect way for me to support my values (using more renewable energy) even though I can't put solar panels on my roof because of a beautiful tree shading the roof. Becoming a member of SunShare was fast and easy. If you are looking for way to tap into solar power but can't do it on your own property, joining the SunShare community is the way to go!

As an environmentally conscious household we feel a lot better about our energy use now that we have SunShare. It couldn't be more seamless, but for potential customers who might receive a mailer or receive a flyer you should reach out and have someone walk you through the process. When I got the first mailer I couldn't understand what was what and just tossed it. But then one of their reps went walking around the neighborhood to answer questions and as soon as the lightbulb turned on I signed up on the spot. Basically you'll keep your Xcel account but also have a SunShare account. You'll also keep getting bills from Xcel and you'll receive a bill from SunShare. In my situation SunShare has produced all of my energy needs - so I only pay SunShare additionally I'll receive a credit on my Xcel bill because SunShare has a reduced rate for energy (it makes sense when you see your bills). In situations (maybe the winter or spring) where SunShare isn't producing enough energy to cover my monthly usage I'll probably have to draw from Xcel so I may have to pay both Xcel and SunShare but you'll draw from your credits until there aren't any more.
I would tell someone who's interested that A. you may end up paying a little less, but don't count on it and B. the real reason to do it is to get your power from renewables in probably the easiest and least capital intensive way possible.

Great company. They've made it easy for me to put more solar power in the grid and get credit on my Xcel energy bill.

The environment is important to me and I wanted to make a difference. Subscribing to SunShare was fast and easy, and I see the credits on my utility bill each month. It’s simple and cost-effective, and I feel good about my carbon footprint as a subscriber. Having solar panels on my roof isn’t an option for me, but I still get to choose renewable energy. It’s my choice and SunShare is a good partner.

Changing the world over from fossil fuels is important to me. Signing up for Sunshare was an easy way to feel I was helping to do my part. SunShare made it easy for me to choose solar to offset my fossil fuel use. I can’t put solar panels on my roof, but I wanted to do something with renewable energy. Signing up for community solar was the answer. The SunShare people are very friendly and truly passionate about clean energy so I feel good that I made this choice. Makes me smile every time I see those credits on my utility bill. When signing up I was offered a $50 gift card as incentive to help spread the word. I never got it, but knowing that I was helping do my part in reducing carbon footprints makes me feel good as well.

Sunshare has been easy and helpful to work with. Great service that integrates with Xcel Energy in a simple and straightforward way. I'm paying less for my energy and reducing my footprint.
