When I was Partner in a large Chicago architecture and interior design firm, I had worked with many millworkers and furniture makers, however none as bad as Blak Haus Furniture Not only have they been unprofessional but in my vast experience with furniture makers, they make very poor quality furniture and don't stand behind their product, in my opinion. The furniture piece I had them produce had in less less than two years fallen apart. It was unusable within a very short time and when I informed Blak Haus years ago, was promised they would come back. I have emails to show that I contacted them in 2018 with them telling me they would look at the unit. Here I am today and they have yet to be out to see the poor craftmanship of their work. The furniture is unusable and a mess. The paint chipped pretty much right away and the doors and drawers fell off their hinges so we couldn't use the furniture. In my opinion and with over 35 years of experience in the interior design business, Blak Haus Furniture is poorly made and they haven't stood behind their work In my opinion. We spent a lot of money for furniture we believed would last and would have for a very long time. We can go to Ikea and spend less, have the furniture last and have a product that the company would stand by. The Blak Haus owner has taken no responsibility for his product, in our experience. He is telling us it's our fault for opening the drawers and doors, which by the way we might open them 15 times a year. Huh Why can I open kitchen cabinets five times a day but I can't open Blak Haus furniture's doors more than 15 times a year without them falling off? The owner told me to have the maintenance guy in my building repair his furniture. Really? Why can I open drawers and doors in my other furniture and cabinets 15 times a day and they don't fall apart? And I don't use his furniture because it's falling apart. I'm now getting threatened by the owner. I am a Retired Senior Citizen and the owner scares me and it is causing me terrible stress and anxiety. But why won't he come and look at his furniture and then he can see the condition. Again, we don't use it because we're afraid it will continue to fall apart. I told the owner to please look at it and he won't. Have a blessed day. update. The owner has threatened me telling me he has an attorney in his family. And that he will say I was trying to extort money from him to pay my rent. I did not do that. I requested in 2018 that he look at the furniture he made for me because it was falling apart. He said he would but he never did. So i asked again and he said no that he wasn't dong work in Chicago. So that's not my issue. I asked him to give me money to pay a millworker in Chicago to fix his furniture. No answer. Except accusing me of extorting him. I can't make this stuff up.

We had been looking for a credenza/media cabinet for months as we wanted something a bit unique and visually appealing. After an exhaustive search (stores, catalogs, and internet) we happened upon Blak Haus Furniture and saw the River Media Cabinet. It was (almost) exactly what we wanted. We had never ordered custom furniture before so were a little apprehensive. But working with Ethan was great. Lots of back and forth as we selected wood species, stains, dimensions - al

Ordered a custom version of his River Media Cabinet. Ethan was easy to work with as we selected wood species, stain, dimensions, etc. Sent us drawings and progress photos and we could "tweek" as the project progressed. Ended up with a truly beautiful, one-of-a-kind, custom piece of furniture/work of art!

I sent Ethan a photo of my dream table (purchased years ago from an upscale Japanese dept store in NYC) and asked him to recreate. Voila, it has just arrived and is quite perfect. Ethan has a deep sense of design and an ability to translate what the consumer wants. Would highly, highly recommend him. The quality is unsurpassed.
