There is currently a change of ownership when we stopped in, so our lunch plans were put on hold. Our friendly & knowledgeable barkeeper gave us the scoop-no kitchen right now, only the bar pizzas. We ordered the garbage pizza and enjoyed an alcoholic beverage while we waited. Our AWESOME server found some butter pretzels to munch on while we waited: THAT, my friends, is SUPERIOR service. Thank you SO much to the great bartender, server, pizza baker (honestly-she did it all) that we encountered today. It made the lack of kitchen lunch deficiency tolerable.

I have family just up the road and lived in Minnesota for 20 years and never once stopped in to this place but I am glad we finally did during our most recent trip to Minnesota. The service was decent, it may have been a little slow with refills, but not terrible and super friendly, but really the food was outstanding. The garlic bread they make is unique, old-fashioned, and awesome. We will come back for that alone, but really everything was great. Cheese curds, burger, fries, onion rings..... the list goes on. Food was great, we will be back.

We were really impressed with the great service (which is becoming more difficult to find) and great food. We'll be back.

The Rustic Inn is a classic small town bar and restaurant. It has a supper club feel in the dining room. It regularly has excellent food specials on the weekends. The bar area is...well...rustic. It can be a little bit towny clicky at times but not a bad little bar.

My family and I dined here at the Rustic Inn on a busy Friday night. We've been here a few times before and service is average, but nothing like it was on this visit. Service was absolutely awful! We put our name on a wait list and we waited for an hour and 15 minutes to be sat. We weren't in any hurry but had we known it would've been that long of a wait we would not have stayed, for we had four little kids with us who were hungry. At some point when we checked in to see how much longer it would be, she looked confused and didn't know where our name was on the list. When we were finally seated we waited another 20 minutes before I got up to ask for a server. Her response "Oh, that's my table I'll be over in a minute". She never came, she sent a different server over to help us. Almost 2 1/2 hours after we first arrived we still had no food. Our kids had been very patient (as us too) but by then they were very hungry and not willing to wait any longer. We stopped a server and asked to box up our food to take home. We explained how we weren't happy with our service and all she said "we're busy." Really? So is every other restaurant on a Friday night. You staff for it accordingly and plan for busy nights. Doesn't mean you leave a table sitting unacknowledged for 20 minutes or forget their names on the waitlist. For someone who's been in the service industry for over 15 years, I am very understanding and forgiving on mistakes and the busyness of a restaurant. The lack of communication and unforgiveness was unbelievable. Not once did any staff apologize for forgetting us. Had they said a simple "I'm sorry, let me take care of you" or thank you for your patience" this would've been a different story and I probably wouldn't be writing this awfully long review. To top our night off, when we got home they forgot one of our orders! Unbelievable. When we called to inform them, they line was busy...the remaining of the night. We tried calling multiple times, never got through. We were not looking for or hoping for any discount or freebies. I do hope, however, that the Rustic Inn can use our awful experience to improve and train their staff on customer service and the importance of giving good quality service to stand behind their name and history. We won't be back.
