On 5/17/2025, I went into tractor supply in Thief River Falls Minnesota to purchase an electric tower heater. Dave helped us get the heater and he was very helpful.
However, we used the heater in our camper Saturday night and when we plugged it in the temperature showed 32 degrees Fahrenheit was the current temperature of our camper. This was not true because we were using the propane furnace in our camper and thermostat showed 69. Anyway, we set the tower heater to “adjustable thermostat” for 68 degrees, the heater never shut off because the thermostat on the heater was showing our camper at 32 degrees still. I also tried to shut off the heater with the power button it would not shut off the only way to shut this off was to unplug it.
Monday at 8:15 we took the heater back to tractor supply to exchange it. The woman at the counter got a man to help us I explained the above to him. He took the heater plugged it in and as I explained it was showing the store temperature at 32 degrees just as our camper. I asked him to shut off the power with the power button to show him the heater does not shut off even by using the power button. He waved his hand in my face and told me to let him do this. He then read the instructions and set the setting to “adjustable thermostat” and said here is your problem. I told him we did that too. But the heater does not shut off when it hits the temperature we set on the adjustable temperature. So, I showed him if you turn the adjustable temp to the lowest setting (which is 59 degrees) the heater should shut off in the store. The heater did not shut off. He of course read the instruction to me again. Saying the heater runs for a while after it hits that temp. We waited a few minutes and it still did not shut off. This man did nothing but argue with me. I was so frustrated that he would not listen to me that I finally said I would take the heater to a tractor supply down by where we live. I was not asking for my money back. I only wanted an exchange. He would no even go get a new one and compare it to the one I was trying to return. I did not get his name but I am sure you can look at the date 5/19/2025 at 8 am and see who was there. I have never been treated like this EVER.
I took the heater to Pine River tractor supply and the lady that helped me there listened as I explained what happened at Thief River Falls tractor supply and explained I just wanted to exchange it. She pulled down a new one. Plugged it in and the temperature showed the store at 71 degrees (not 32 as the bad one did) She then set the adjustable temp at 59 degrees and after about 30 to 45 seconds the heater stopped. I was also able to shut the power off with the power button. Something the bad heater did not do.
We have family in Thief River Falls and I will never return to that store and my family could not believe how this man treated us. On a scale of 1-10 Dave the first guy gets a 10. The second guy gets a -10. He was a terrible excuse for customer service.

I called about chicks told them I was on my way they said they would hold them for me I get down which is an hour and a half drive for me and their sold I asked the lady there and she said she didn't think they would sell that fast what a waste of my time will never give that place my business again
