We stayed at Bluefin for our Anniversary, which also happened to coincide with Valentine’s weekend. First morning we stopped at the Café and had the Gitchi-Gami French toast and the hikers breakfast. French toast was amazing and would highly recommend this dish. My husband ordered his eggs sunny side up, and received “over hard” eggs and had to scrape off the edible parts from the browned bottoms. Bacon was crispy and excellent. Liked the coffee station for regular drip coffee. On our last morning, we stopped in before we left. Husband got the hikers breakfast again, now ordered his eggs over easy. Eggs were cooked much better (1 was slightly “over hard”, but in the grand scheme of things was fine), bacon was barely cooked and he did not eat it. I had the bagel with lox which was tasty. When I got up to get water, after I poured it out of the carafe, I noticed some grass stuck in the bottom and sediment as well (see picture). I ended up just going to my car to get my water bottle. While we were there eating breakfast, I observed the following:One lady get up with her quiche and microwave it.One lady at another table didn’t eat any of her food, and someone else from her table threw it away. It looked like she got a new dish ordered and served.A table of three who seemed to know the chef personally not eat any of their food (x3 dishes) and got 3 new dishes ordered and served. We were extremely disappointed in our experiences with Coho Café.

After a bad dining experience at the Bluefin next-door we decided the Coho would be a safer alternative. We were wrong. The menu looked good with options for everyone. My son had a pizza, my wife had the jerk chicken, I ordered the walleye and we each had a drink with our meal. With the tip, it was over $100 for the three of us to eat dinner. When the food arrived, we were less than impressed. My wife's rice wasn't even cooked all the way, it was literally crunchy. Unfortunately, so was my walleye. They clearly overcooked it and tried to hide it by putting the brown crunchy side down. Apparently they got lazy slicing my son's pizza because it wasn't cut all the way through, leaving my son to hack away at it with his knife every time he wanted a piece. I understand with inflation the cost of food going up but there's zero excuse for over/under cooked food at these prices. The employees didn't seem all that ambitious to help anyone and disappeared in the back whenever possible. Unfortunately we came to the realization after our subpar meal that they made it our responsibility to bus our table. At that point I wondered why the heck I was asked to leave a tip?!? We cleared most of the table but were fed up with the entire experience so we left the rest for them to clean up. Imagine tipping your bartender only to have them say you need to take your dirty glasses to the kitchen and wipe down the bar when you're done. This is literally what they're doing. The entire experience was tacky and overpriced for improperly cooked food and subpar service. We will never eat here again.

I loved this little Cafe. They had lovely staff, a clean cabin like feel on the inside. It was a really nice home feel in there.

Great cafe on the north shore! We were very happy this place was open when we had to WALK from the Cliff Dweller (3.4 miles north of here) and this was the closest place that was open! Life saver.

Service was very good. We ordered "to go" for dinner and the pizza and spaghetti were great! We, also, ordered from the bakery for both mornings. The chocolate croissants and caramel rolls were our favorites.

Casual breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Pay when you order. Self-serve water and coffee.

Asked for eggs sunny side up and was told that wasn’t an option. Went for over easy, didn’t matter, there was hair in my food and I quit eating.

DO NOT order take out during dinner. It took us 1 hour and 34 minutes from the time we ordered till we got the food in hand. They originally stated come pick it up in 30 minutes. Was then told people came in so it got busy. They stated come back 30 to 45 minutes later. I came back little after 45 minutes and they were starting to plate the meal. I waited some 10 minutes for the meal. The servers were polite.Side note. There was a customer that ordered food when I came in the first time I arrived that was finishing up her meal before I got mine which I ordered over 45 minutes prior.

We have stopped here on several trips. Baked goods are made right there and are fantastic! Hot food is delicious too. Our latest stop included baked mac and cheese, and chile lime quesadilla. The barista needs a little more training on creating good foam but that is our only complaint. It is mostly self serve but that is fine.

Great place to go for glorified frozen pizza. We were served half our order and have been waiting over an hour and a half for the other half. They have not apologised or offered any discounts or freebies for ruining dinner. Save your time and drive the 30 minutes to a better pizza place.Update: we waited another 30 minutes with no sign of pizza. We requested a refund from the manager and the manager blamed this on his new staff. Sad he could not own up to his own mistakes and blamed this on his overwhelmed employees. We then found out the pizza had been lost and was not even in the oven??! We went to the gas station to finish dinner and it was the same quality food. Several other restaurants goers were in the same boat. At the end of the night the waitress was making microwave nachos to feed the kids waiting on pizza as they were out of nacho cheese sauce. Absolutely level 10 disaster situation.

I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by both the food and the ambiance. The highlight for me was their Tomato Soup, which I highly recommend - it's rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive range of vegetarian options available, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. The overall atmosphere of the place added to the dining experience, making it a delightful visit. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for quality meals in a comfortable setting.

The croissant was fresh and excellent, but the potato skillet Was terrible. There was so much grease in the bottom of the bowl that you could scoop it out with a spoon. I completely lost my appetite when I saw all of the grease in the bottom of the dish. I would say that there was very little attention paid to the quality of this food, at least the dish we ordered.

Aimee and I stopped in for lunch after climbing Eagle Mountain, the highest point in MN. Aimee had the Reuben - it was delicious, came with pickles and chips. I had the grillen chicken sandwich spicy, with carmelized onions; also good. Great view of Lake Superior from the dining room, and the cafe' had a nice feel. We were there off-season, so it was quiet, as was the town. Such a pretty ride up, and Eagle Mountain was worth the climb. Drove by the iron ore processing plant, which brought up Gordon Lightfoots' "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald'. Given that it was late November and a storm was approaching, it was very apt. All in all, a good lunch; there are other options there we'd like to try before we go back.
