Travel the shoreline drive up the coast from Duluth to Gooseberry Falls (and beyond!) and be awed by Gods awesome creation. Plan for stops at scenic overlooks and a national trail along the way. Watch your young ones closely here! You have unlimited access to the cliffs and falls along the way. This is one of our favorite getaways of the summer and close enough to Duluth for an afternoon adventure.

A beautiful state park along the north shore. The 5 falls hike is not physically demanding and takes one through views of the waterfalls at various points. Kids love to play in the waters.Restrooms: There are restrooms at the visitor centre but not many beyond that

Beautiful state park. The falls are gorgeous. The walking paths are fun and easily accessible. You can walk on either side of the falls. The views are breathtaking. A definite must-see while in northern Minnesota

It's been a decade or better since I'd been here. But it looks like the state has made steady improvements to the park. The falls are impressive. I'd worried about the drought most of Minnesota has been going thru. But the water levels were adequate to keep the falls beautiful.

Fantastic State Park! So much to do here, for all levels of ability. The falls are in easy walking distance on east paved paths near visitor center. But their are other falls deeper in the park for those that have more time and want to explore further. Beautiful trails follow the water, fairly easy to navigate. But further in you want good hiking shoes and note it is uneven ground with lots of tree roots and stones. But still easy and worth it. This park also links up to the Superior Trail as well. Dogs are welcomed and there were a decent amount when we were there, all leashed of course. Visitor center with bathrooms and plenty of parking. It can get a little crowded by the falls, but becomes nice and quiet as you venture out on trail.

Gooseberry Falls State Park is definitely place to explore. Quiet large area of hiking, walking, bicycling, dog walking. Lots of trees, plants and flowers. Beautiful waterfalls on different levels. We have been several times in this park. This place is awesome.

Great state park with many walking trails and awesome views. You can do some easy hiking loops and adventure on longer walks up a few miles long. Trails can be muddy. Check weather and dress appropriately. Parking and access are free. Parking can be limited, so it's best to do a few loops around the parking lot. Chances are, you'll see someone leaving soon and can grab their spot. Restrooms in the welcome center have running water and soap.

Wow, what an absolutely beautiful and well-maintained state park!! My husband and I stopped here as part of our drive up the north shore, and it was even better than we expected. Loved all the trails and bridges, clean and in great condition. The restrooms in the visitor center were also very clean.

After the weekend's rain, the falls were great. A steady flow of people, but not crazy busy. The RV/Trailer parking unfortunately fills with a lot of cars. Made three loops and finally a spot opened up.

Must do! Been there/done that on the North Shore. Very nice state park with large visitor center and ADA compliant paths. There are lots of options for seeing the falls including challenging hikes or easy and quick ‘look see’. I liked the the falls weren’t cluttered with warning signs about what not to do. It made the place more natural and people used common sense. Very dog friendly. Lots of people had dogs enjoying the natural beauty of Lake Superior as well. Lots of parking.Dog-friendliness: Almost a dog park atmosphere. Don’t go if your dog isn’t socialized.

This is a beautiful state park! The walking paths are nice and easy to walk on, the waterfalls are beautiful and peaceful. It wasn’t super busy either so it was possible to get pictures without people in them. Postcards in the gift shop are 25 cents each, which is an incredible deal!
