I absolutely love bringing my Doggo to Waconia Vet! The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. They made us feel comfortable and like family from the moment we walked in the door. They made everything very simple to understand and made my options very clear! My dog absolutely loved it. He gets excited every time we come into the lot. He just knows he is going to get treats, snuggles and lots of love!

We have brought our cats to this veterinary office for many years. The staff is so kind and efficient. From Lissa at the front desk to Dr. Harms and all the techs who assist. Our little Millie is always in good hands whether having a wellness check or her monthly PAWdicure. We would never go anywhere else. ~J

Our pets have been with Waconia Vet Clinic for several years and were overall happy but we recently had an incident that led us to pull all of our animals and it's something that has been weighing on me for 3 weeks and just need to put it out there so others can possibly avoid a similar situation. We bounced between 2-3 stars but decided on 2 because, in both of the following situations there was room for a potentially different outcome that could have ultimately lead to extending the lives of our pets but that wasn't the case.2 Years ago we had an older dog that started not being able to walk. We brought her in and got the 'she's old and has a bad back' and tried some pain management. We knew something else was wrong so ended up seeing another Vet at Waconia Vet Clinic to get a 2nd opinion, which felt really weird. This Vet actually listened and did X-rays. Turned out she had cancer in multiple organs and was euthanized a couple days later. This one incident wasn't enough to pull our other pets but we were much more cautious and overly testing happy moving forward.Fast forward to September/October this year, our other aging dog started to have some mobility problems. He was seen multiple times and we tried a wide range of treatments but were struggling to get good results. In September he saw the Vet once and Techs once & in October he saw the Vet twice and Techs twice. He had imaging done 10/27 and last time he saw the Vet was 11/24. We continued to know something was wrong and just felt we weren't getting anywhere so took him to a totally different Vet on 11/30 where we learned he had Cancer. This Vet knew something was wrong right away because his Heart was muffled. His Heart was muffled because the Cancer was causing fluid to fill the Pleural Cavity in the lungs. We had to put him down the next day. X-rays and an Ultrasound confirmed this. We're incredibly heartbroken, angry, & frustrated that this wasn't caught sooner. When being examined we don't understand why they didn't catch the muffled noise of his heart. There's a lot that goes into this, I feel this primarily stems from having such short appointments times which doesn't allow the Vets to practice to their full abilities. Management needs to allow more time. The average person doesn't know what to ask for so it's the Vets responsibility to walk through all of the options and I don't feel that's happening right now. When we called to inactive our dog the receptionist only cared about where we took him for the euthanasia. Didn't say anything about our loss.We did email his vet to let her know what happened. I know she cared deeply for him but when she said 'I should have x-rayed his full body in October' it almost hurt more because, yes, she should have and we can't go back and do it, but I don't feel it's solely on her. If she had more time per appointments she may have made different decisions/recommendations and we could have caught it sooner, which may very well have changed if we could have extended his life. This was the 2nd dog in 2 years where if we hadn't kept pushing for more imaging and testing, they would have died horrible deaths at home and it would have been incredibly more traumatic than it already was.Waconia Vet has changed so much in the last couple of years. We've pulled all our animals because we just can't trust the care and we can't continue to be solely responsible for knowing all of the things we may need to ask and we don't want to keep going into every appointment feeling like we're going to have to push for imaging/testing.Edit to add: I left a voicemail for the manager asking her to call me back to help understand what happened/how this was missed and haven't heard anything back and it's been over 2 weeks.

I highly recommend bringing your fur baby here. They are so welcoming and my Queen Elsa loves all the interactions she has there. Bringing her to the Vet even for shots is something that she doesn't fear. The staff are lovely, caring people full of knowledge that are there to inform you on everything you need to know to keep your pet healthy to live a long life. My last appointment was amazing simply by how they conducted the process of her wellness visit along with going over all future things I need to watch out for. I believe that all the vetinarians there are passionate in what they do. They have the best interest in mind when coming to our pets. They also are there to support you in any questions or needs you may have. They are highly respectful, and I'm genuinely grateful for their support.
