“I have been taking my pets to Anderson Lakes Pet Hospital for many years. All the doctors I’ve worked with are amazing, although if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Dr. Hanson!
The clinic is always spotless, warm, and welcoming. The team is compassionate and truly cares about the wellbeing of your pets. They take the time to understand both you and your animals, and what I appreciate most is that they listen. They talk things through with you and don’t jump straight to expensive tests like X-rays or unnecessary procedures.
I also want to mention something very personal. When I had to put my little poodle down, I was devastated. As I searched for the perfect new puppy, I would send every potential one to Dr. Zieman. She always took the time to review the information and honestly tell me whether she recommended that puppy or not — and explain why. It took several tries, but eventually she said, “Yes, I would recommend this one.” That puppy is now 7 years old, and I absolutely adore her.
They’re also wonderful about answering emails immediately, which has saved me many trips to the vet — and of course, unnecessary vet bills.
I highly recommend Anderson Lakes Pet Hospital. This is coming from a crazy animal lover with three cats and a dog, all under the amazing care of their team!”

We had been taking our sweet boy, Burt to Dr. Melco for the 8 years that we had him & Dr. Melco always went ABOVE & BEYOND for Burt. He saved his life more than once, including a terrifying incident with kinetic sand! (He stayed open late to do life saving surgery!) He treated us & Burt with so much compassion, and especially at the end of his life…He listened, and tried to do as much as he could to make Burt comfortable those last few months. He came to our house when the time came to put Burt down & even called me the next day to see how we were doing & to tell me how wonderful of a dog Burt was. I’m pretty particular about my vets especially with my dogs doing dog sports and being semi knowledgeable myself with keeping an eye on what’s unusual for my dogs. I can usually get squeezed in relatively fast if necessary and Dr. Sven is very knowledgeable and great at translating his thoughts and how to move forward with me. We acted swiftly and she referred us to the cardiology UMN dept and we were able to get a procedure done, which realizing if it had gone undetected he may not have had a lot longer to live. “Had a great first experience with my sweet 1 year old Dachshund Rat Terrier mix, Lola. She is a young rescue and needed an initial wellness exam post adoption to continue her on her flea and tick meds, as well as establish regular ongoing care.
The clinic was able to get me in the following day after I called and everyone I interacted with was super friendly! They did a thorough examination and even offered a free month supply of Nexxgaurd + and some dental samples as a new client. I will be back and be sure to recommend them to others as well :)”
