Fantastic hotel! I would rate this place far above other hotels. Incredibly clean and kept! A lot of attention to detail. I’m super anal about my hotels and this is seriously the best I’ve seen! Service was above and beyond and service/food in their restaurant will have me return. I am so surprised with our stay. We WILL be back. Impressed with their care and upkeep. No wear and tear noticed. All up to date. Thanks to the entire staff!!!!

My Wife and I stayed here after our Wedding a few weeks ago. We want to thank Meagan, Jaqueline and Shandra for the great help with coordinating the shuttle to and from our venue. We also wanted to thank them for the room accommodations for our guests. This hotel is not only a great place to stay but its also connected to Rudy's Redeye Grill!
Food & drinks: The hotel is connected to Rudy's Redeye Grill which is a huge bonus! They not only have a beautiful restaurant and bar but they also have a rooftop! So if you're looking for a great meal, drinks or Happy Hour you will want to stop in!

Not very pet friendly, I was scolded for not mentioning I had a dog with me during online booking, even though the booking website did not specify that some rooms were dog friendly, and others weren’t. I was asked not to use the elevator with my dog, even though she is well behaved. It seemed like a huge inconvenience for them to move me to a different room that was dog friendly. I wish they would make it clear what was needed from the consumer in booking the hotel, instead of dressing me down at the front desk when I told them I had a dog

The ambiance of the pool area and breakfast room is just as nice as it looks in the photo. The staff were very friendly and the owner came by seeking feedback while we were eating breakfast.
Room was fine and prices were much lower than downtown. Well worth it.
Rooms: Room is functional up to date and clean.
Safety: Very quiet area of town. Felt completely safe. Love this part of Minnesota.

Have always had a great stay and have been quite impressed with everyone at the hotel from check in and in the restaurant, etc. The manager is so welcoming and always very concerned with how we are enjoying our stay.
Jen has been super friendly at check in, Brian at the restaurant was awesome. And the general manager is engaged and makes sure we are doing well.
The location is great and staff so welcoming with the exception of Shannon. It’s a shame one person can really change the experience and thus the one star rating.
She is rude and seems to want to continually start a fight. She lacks customer service and I only wish her the best. I know how difficult the hospitality industry can be and hope she finds something that makes her happy.
This was our second time staying for over a week at the hotel and second time we ran into major attitude from Shannon. The first time was a few months ago when we asked for a late check out by one hour which was denied. I get it- you don’t always get what you ask for, but never expected the attitude. It was just a simple request -no need to yell. I brushed it off and wanted to believe maybe Shannon was having a bad day but this seems to be consistent behavior. This recent confrontation was because we left our dog alone for 30 minutes at 9pm and she hunted us down and yelled at us because there was a noise complaint. We were more than happy to return to our room once we found out there was an Issue, but were scolded and confronted with unnecessary anger. No need to argue- we handled it and rectified the situation. There’s a civil way to handle situations. Some training on non-violent communication may be helpful for Shannon.
Side note: If you are staying at this hotel with a dog I highly recommend not being put in the room next to the elevator/bar. We paid the pet fee daily, and yes, our dog barked occasionally because of the constant noise of people outside our door. We were put in a room right by the bar that was open until midnight every night. We could easily have complained about the noise from the clientele but stayed quiet. While I write this there are drunk loud people outside our room waiting for an elevator that takes forever to go 3 flights of stairs. Any room that is 101, 201 or 301 or close to those rooms is going to be an issue. I don’t know of any dog that wouldn’t go nuts barking from the noise of people standing outside their door talking loudly.
I typically only post positive experiences and am so disappointed that I was unable to do so this time.

We had a great dinner on the rooftop here celebrating my daughters 14th birthday. My wife and I sat at the bar and my daughter and friends sat at a table. Everything was excellent! The walleye tacos were something I'd get every time!

The rooms were immaculate and the staff was very friendly. I was in town for eye surgery and stayed for 6 nights. Because of the surgery, I had to lie flat on my back for two days and it was important that I stay in a clean ( as much as possible ) enviorment. The sheets/towels/comforter. ect. were truly CLEAN. Friends who live in the White Bear Lake area had strongly recommended this motel and they were right. Best yet ...the restaurant food was outstanding ...the walleye, the hambergers, chili. As I was there for so long and couldnt leave till my follow up Drs. visit......I think I tried almost everything on the menu. ALL five star!...Although I didnt use it, the pool area is charming and also looks and smells CLEAN!
Food & drinks: Fabulous restauant and excellent food...and not too expensive

I’m going to try to write this in the most respectful manner possible but, I am very disappointed in this location. My girlfriend reserved a room for us on February 7th, 2024 for a friend’s wedding taking place near the hotel on June 8th, 2024. The day she reserved the room for us she spoke to an employee named Sarah who told her that we could get a late checkout time closer to the wedding time which is 4pm CST. Sarah said that we would just have to inquire about this at the time of check in and they will grant us the late checkout. Keep in mind that checkout time is normally 11am. To us, this means a checkout time later than 11am which is what any rational person would assume. We show up here on June 7th around 8:19pm CST to check in and the two employees (who were very kind) working at the front desk immediately tell us that checkout time must be at 11am. We kindly inform them about the conversation we had with Sarah and they say that the latest they could do is 2pm. We agreed and went up to our room to finish out the rest of our night. Around 10:40am on June 8th (the day of checkout) Sarah calls the hotel room phone and rudely insists that she never said anything about a late checkout time and that we must be gone by 12pm. We should also keep in mind that my girlfriend took very meticulous notes about her call with Sarah on the day of reservation. Whilst being on the phone with Sarah, we inform her that we were already told that 2pm is our checkout time. We also asked Sarah how they can just change it the day of so sporadically. Sarah insisted that we speak to the manager (Megan) about the issue. After a brief hold, we speak to Megan and she exclaims that she does not know why we’ve been told three different checkout times already and that we must be gone by 1:30pm. We have now be told four different checkout times at this point and it is frustrating. I personally ask Megan what would happen in the event we need to stay the extra thirty minutes (till 2pm) and she aggressively met me with “We’re going to call the police!” then slams the phone to hang up on me. Needless to say, I am very displeased with the miscommunication and lack of communication amongst the employees at this location as well as their customer service skills, specifically Megan and Sarah. I am typically not one to fight tooth and nail over slight inconveniences but, me and my girlfriend drove almost four hours from our residence to stay at this hotel near the wedding venue and we did not like the idea of being kicked out so much earlier than the wedding time after being informed on so many different checkout times. The way the situation was handled is very distasteful and unacceptable. We were also told that we would be charged an extra stay if we stayed past 12pm before speaking to the manager. Again, I’m not one to make a big deal over minor inconveniences but, wrong is wrong and we did not receive one apology for the miscommunication on their part throughout this incident. I feel like it’s also needless to say (but still needs to be said) that I will never be staying at this specific location again and will most likely never stay at a Best Western again. I do not want anyone losing their job over this disagreement but I do think some retraining would be optimal here.

Usually, hotels charge a small fee for non guests to come use the pool. This hotel apparently does not. Sad.

Beautiful spot for a wedding venue. Hotel was clean and comfortable, pool was great for the kids, and dining/drinks right in the hotel. Staff was wonderful. Continental breakfast was a bonus! Great place to stay!

We needed a place to stay for one night north of the Cities on the way north, and this hotel was great. I'd absolutely stay there again. The front desk was really helpful, the whole facility was nice, and it was as kid-friendly as a regular hotel can be. We had a 2-queens family suite and it suited our family of two adults, 2 preschoolers, and a toddler pretty well. The McDonald's next door is convenient if you need or want that option, the rooftop bar and restaurant is great when the weather is nice, the breakfast food was great (real egg scramble, gluten free bread available, plus the other usual hotel breakfast options), and my wife said the pool was wonderful for the short time she got to use it.

I stayed there with my family at the end of December 2023. Everything about this hotel was PERFECT! The rooms were very nice and tidy. The pool area looks like a small Italian village! It's so cute! The staff were super friendly! It felt like home! 10/10 experience! I will definitely be staying here in the future!

Rooms: Smelled like a dog had stayed in the room prior to my stay. Otherwise the room was clean.
Noteworthy details: The hallways are not just loud, they sound like a school hallway between classes. Be prepared, especially if you are staying Friday or Saturday night.
