We adopted a dog from here, and the staff really seemed to know what they were doing. Did not get the feeling that they didn't care about the animals like you might see at a place that is staffed by bored high schoolers

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!The lack of transparency regarding the health and well-being of the animals is unacceptable, and not informing potential adopters about injuries is a serious concern. Furthermore, the practice of euthanizing animals simply because they are unwanted is both heartbreaking and ethically questionable. A shelter's primary responsibility should be to provide compassionate care and to work diligently towards finding each animal a loving home. It's essential that such facilities adhere to the highest standards of honesty and animal welfare. It's important for places, especially ones caring for animals, to have a welcoming and transparent environment. It's definitely a red flag when the staff isn't friendly and the rules aren't clear or consistent. Sharing your experience in a review could help others understand that this place is trash!!!

The humane society is a great place to adopt an animal. If you adopt a pet your saving a life. They make sure the animals are safe.

Very kind and helpful. I'm so thankful that places like this exist to help people and animals in need. My mom had to be hospitalized with amputation and we took her old dog but were unable to take the kitten due to husbands allergy to cats. I am thankful they were able to take her. Thank you so much.

I adopted a cat through the AHS Woodbury location and the process was smooth and lovely! I got to spend about 30 minutes with him visiting and decided I wanted to adopt. Ashton was very helpful with the paperwork, answered all of my questions thoughtfully, and quickly microchipped him too. They even sent me a post card months later wishing me and my new cat well! Thank you, Ashton!

Very nice facility. Both dogs and puppies available. But no kittens, which was what I was looking for. There are ear plugs available. If the barking gets too loud and hand sanitizer to use between visiting animals.Check times before you go to make sure that they're open.

Nice shelter with some loveable animals. Staff doesn't seem interested in working with people.

Animal Humane Society lives up to its name. I recently had to have my beloved cat euthanized. We had a house fire in September and Georgia spent time in environments she wasn’t used to and by the time I tried to find foster care for her, there was no turning back with her behavior. I was devastated but I know AHS helped her find the peace she so desperately needed. I miss Georgia with all my heart, but she is not suffering. Thank you, AHS.
