Went to a wedding there last night. Great venue! The wedding was outdoors ( weather was perfect, and not a single mosquito) then we went into the reception hall for the reception. Very nice place. The mom of the groom said it was amazing. She said the open bar price per head was a great deal, and the grooms dad said he thought it was great. He said the wedding party stayed in the cabins the night before. They also complimented the lady working the bar. They said she had been with their party tending to everything for 2 straight days.

The food was good. They need to keep the buffet full better than they do especially during rush-hour lunch but over all they are good.

The greens were way to salty. M&C was not good and I am not a fan of can sweet potato, the sweet potato casserole was very bad.

McClain Lodge was my journey today. It was flat out OK. I wanted to give the Buffett 3 stars, but my parents insisted I give 2 stars. The potatoes and macaroni were very good. The greens, green beans, and corn were dry and not seasoned well. The chicken was dry, the shrimp were over cooked with no taste and mushy, but the fish was tasty but very salty. The tartar sauce was very good, and it made the fish seem less salty. The bread pudding was very good, the pecan pie was average, and the lemon pie was good. The restaurant offers crab legs but I didn’t trust them. The location has plenty of parking, unfortunately the waiters were not naturally friendly which affects the service. I would not revisit this restaurant.

Beautiful space and the drive thru safari is a neat addition to the area. However, I have tried the buffet on 3 separate occasions (not my idea) and it is not good. I’m not a picky eater. Overall, a great place tho. I know people have different tastes and maybe their buffet just isn’t for me.

Thanksgiving buffet was delicious. We will definitely visit again soon. Staff are so friendly and very efficient. Excellent service!
