My experience with the Paul Barnett Nissan's service department has been really great. This was my second time bringing my truck in for service. They have a very comfortable waiting area with tv, and they had coffee and waters available. The service advisors came to the waiting area to update me on the progress being made. The wait time was not long because I had made an appointment. Overall great place to get work done on your vehicle.

I've been in sales for over 20 years and in the car business since 16. I was excited to join the team and to be back selling Nissan .Quickly it became apparent that retail in this region was down as much as 70 percent .This was true of every dealership in the area for many reasons .Still I was promised at my hire date that I would be able to have a guarantee of 2k dollars while I got up to speed .Pay day kept coming and I kept not receiving pay. Finally I was told that I was never set up on the payroll. I had been working 54 hours per week, commuting and hour a day ,driving their inventory , and I was not set up as an employee. I had been passed around 4 times, each time being told that it wasn't their department to correct this. Finally general manager Larry Hamil pulled out a form and asked me with a week left in the month what pay plan I wanted . I told him I wanted the pay plan we had discussed . A guarantee for the first month as I couldn't and shouldn't have been held to the same standards as the certified employees until I was up to speed. We created a document that put my pay plan into affect and I was assured that it would process the following Monday and be deposited by Wednesday this would be roughly half or 2/3 of 2k dollars. It's important to know that I was on day 4 of no sleep because of constant worry of financial obligations not being met.The following day my phone was shut off due to this mistake so I reached out over wi fi text message explaining that I needed to see a doctor and I couldn't drive until I could get some rest and that I really needed to get paid so that I could gas the car and have my phone turned back on. All of this is saved and documented in my phone. I kept in communication and my father came to town and drove me to the dealership as I wasn't getting any communication in return .General manager Larry Hamil called me to his office , claiming they had no idea what had happened to me. I reiterated that I have the messages here in my phone and that stopped that line of thinking. I explained that I was working with my doctors to get this under control. In person he was quite compassionate at one point telling me "he loved me" and asked me to promise to keep him posted and I promised I would tearing up a bit. He had ignored me prior but I felt this was genuine but it was not. He ignored the requested update, removed me entirely from the store and the Nissan training website without notice. I assume this means I'm fired . Side note . The Friday before Paul Barnett came down on the sales staff for poor performance. These sales reps were selling on average 15 to 20 cars a month when the market allowed and now were to blame. He pointed me out for not selling any when I hadn't helped more than a couple people that were not sales related while in training. It was later that day I found out I wasn't even on the payroll. Paul Barnett , it would be wise to make sure your employees are set up as employees and being paid before you berate them in the staff meeting.Maybe it's time to look inward and consider investing in a bdc . This would allow the sales staff to focus on selling and maintaining relationships with those sold and marketing inventory. Last but not least they paid me hourly claiming documentation of so in Netchex. My employer from Washington state was still in Netchex but there was no information from Paul Barnett . They paid me approx 500 dollars for 3 weeks of 50 plus hour weeks. I still don't know how hourly pay doesn't contradict the agreed upon salary. The sales Staff and sales manager should be praised for the continued efforts in the absence of money . I was gold certified with Nissan and a recipient of many awards for performance. Carla Snider is very kind and not the problem and was like most extremely professional. She shouldn't have to respond on behalf of those responsible. Best wishes to her.
