It had some cool items to see, like the many other blues and music museums in the area. Unlike the other places to see, they state that video and photography is strictly prohibited. Why? I like to take a few photos with my phone for my memories, I'm not going to sell my photos of your collection! Maybe you can't take photos because many displays are dusty and have curled up description papers next to them, held in place by scotch tape? Or maybe that the the poor quality video displays seem to be running on VHS tape loop? These few criticisms make this museum seem like they are sub-par with other places we went to on our trip to the Delta, but the photo thing, get over it, and let people take photos, it will make people like me have a more favorable opinion of your place.

I didn’t have to pay to enter this museum: Washington, DC—The National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families (BSF) are pleased to announce that museums across the nation will be participating in the 14th summer of the Blue Star Museums program. From Saturday, May 20, 2023, Armed Forces Day, to Monday, September 4, 2023, Labor Day, active duty military families can enjoy free admission to participating museums in all 50 states, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.Wanted to share that information in case other museums are visited. I’m not active duty but most will also allow Veterans free entrance. This museums has tons of information. You could really feel overwhelmed and it’s a pretty large museum. I didn’t have enough time to properly view. I highly recommend allowing at least 2-3 hours to tour. You are not allowed to take photos or videos. This part I didn’t like!!The home of Muddy Waters is in museum. Actually it’s one room, the others were destroyed in tornado. There is a lot of written information about him on display in that area. There are so many artist on display, it seems like they didn’t leave anyone out!Ike Turner was born in Clarksdale, MS. I didn’t have a clue about this. You learn so many details about the artist in these museums. This all ties into the Blues Museum and Hall of Fame in Memphis because many of them were produced by Sam Phillips before leaving MS.There is a gift shop and the staff is very friendly! I did take photos of gift shop and area outside of building. They have very nice murals in area and blues marker for Ike Turner. This museum is very interesting, I highly recommend visiting!!

Another great blues museum with tons of history. It’s a pretty big place with some famous guitars and memorabilia . It’s also right across the street from Morgan Freeman’s blues bar

If you gotah go down to the Crossroads you got to go a little more down the road to the Delta Blues Museum. Everyone of the greats seams to of been born in Mississippi. The Museum does a great job of getting their history right. They have a nice gift shop.

This was an excellent and very thorough museum. They cover a to z and have all sorts of memorabilia including guitars, clothing, jukeboxes, and a recreation of Muddy Waters cabin home growing up. I'm a big Koko Taylor fan and I had no idea I would get to see two of her stage outfits. It's bigger than you think and there is too much to take in at once. I would love to spend more time on a second visit. They have a great gift shop and it s a good place to ask about local businesses and restaurants. They have some beautiful paintings and collage pieces and I would love to know more about those throughout the exhibition. Please know ahead of time that you can't take photos inside. I wish they would let visitors showcase their collection with social photos or by selling some item that has photos of the collection. I would have bought that in a heartbeat. Please consider making a donation or becoming a member in addition to your general admission. I would love to see them around for a long long time while continuing to expand.

What a great place run by warm friendly wonderful people. They do so much to keep the history of America's Music alive and so much more. Ask them about their Kids Program and the Delta Blues Museum Band. They not only teach the history, but they are making history.

The hostess was a kind lady who knows about the area, programs, music, and current artists in town. You shouldn't visit Clarksdale without taking the time and visiting the museum to gain an appreciation for the town and the music. "Listen between the lines." Every Mississippian should make a visit to gain a new respect. Rich/Deep history and music that is being kept alive and passed down.

Tired and lazy. Some good exhibits. Information is so so but way out of date. For instance, according to the BB King area, he is still alive, showing that they havent looked over it in several years. The staff were 100% the rudest people i have come accross in a museum. A couple of them stood back, arms folded and actually scowled at me as I went up to the desk to buy something. We hadn't crossed paths till that point so I can only assume they were annoyed because they had to turn up to work. Frankly, if i wasnt welcome i wish I hadn't bothered going. Not worth the rudeness. It won't be a big thing to take off your list. The tourist info next to the Dutch Oven is really worth visiting and they are great people It's a shame as this was one of the things I travelled all the way from England for.

$12 adults and $8 for students/kids over 5. There’s an older part and newer part of the museum. Very neat to learn about blues. There was a band practicing when we arrived. It was mostly young girls around 10 or 12 playing. It was very cool. Nice, small gift shop.
