I can’t say enough good things about this shop! I brought my car in to have the timing chain fixed, and they not only got it done two days earlier than expected, but also took care of a few other things they noticed needed attention. My car is running so smooth now — better than it has in a long time! They truly went above and beyond to help me out, and I’m so thankful I chose them. You can tell they really care about their customers and the quality of their work. Highly recommend.

Jim has been my trusted mechanic for a couple years now. He is always honest and realistic about what needs to be done with your vehicle and how much it’s going to cost. His rates are more than fair and beyond worth it for the quality of service you receive. Car troubles are no fun, but Jim makes the process as good as it can be. He’s worked on multiple vehicles of ours, and his repairs and service have always been effective. I’d recommend Jim’s Auto to anyone.

I had been to a couple other shops and been done wrong, never fixing the problem AND creating problems I never had beforehand….. Jim took his time with diagnostics & figuring out it was a bad intake gasket on one truck, then a rear main on another. Two major problems on two different vehicles that was fixed right the first time in a reasonable time…… Thanks Jim for working with me and will most definitely return for other work we’ve talked about

Last December I was on a long road trip and had an accident near this shop. I immediately contacted them and told them my situation and they understood. They got to work and fixed my car as soon as they could. They were very kind to us and gave us very good service.

Really good guy and a good mechanic. We even allowed people to sleep in our motorhomes in the parking lot (3 RVs). Excellent troubleshooting. Extremely satisfied. Thank you a thousand times. Three happy Quebecois couples.

It appears that this shop over-inflates their labor hours at the discretion of the owner. Mechanic checked the truck quickly, which led to an $80 diagnostic fee for a labor "hour" (that took all of about 3 minutes). He said it needed a new water pump and "we can probably get that done in a couple hours." Then he called (I assume) the owner, who created a quote with 5 labor hours. When I asked about the discrepancy of 5 hours vs. a couple hours and mentioned having one a few years prior that only took "a couple hours," he doubled down and said, "it'll take every bit of 5 hours." So I left (after they demanded $80), took it to a shop about 10 miles away, and saved around $300, because that shop used the true labor hours (2.7 hours, or about what the original mechanic said it would take - before this owner tried to make some more money). I imagine many mechanics use a "book" that generates labor time, but a shop that does the right thing would be one that goes by true labor time and not inflated labor time. Also, a diagnostic fee shouldn't be a flat rate - lot of difference between taking the engine apart to find an unknown issue vs. looking under the truck for a couple minutes and seeing a leak (a leak that was already mentioned by the potential customer). Mechanics here probably do a good job, but if you go here, check the labor hours closely on any quotes, and prepare to pay significantly more than what you'd pay elsewhere. The cost of everything is high enough lately as it is without businesses trying to over-inflate costs. Jim needs to get his watch fixed - an hour goes by very fast there apparently.I am a fan of small businesses and normally wouldn't post anything like this, but since I invested $80 into this one for a 3-minute diagnostic, and since they wouldn't budge on anything or offer any kind of revision on the "hours," I think I have the right to share this horrible experience.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

We were stranded a mile away, on vacation, and were able to get to Jim's Service. He immediately ran diagnostics, helped us understand what was wrong, and helped us continue our trip. Charged us only $30. We would use his service regularly if we lived near.Services: Auto engine diagnostic
