Bill Russell Ford Service almost cost me $4000 in unnecessary repairs.\\n\\nI had a check engine light come on in my 2018 F-150 3ish years ago and took it to Bill Russell Ford Service.\\n\\nThey told me that the timing chain was off and quoted me $4000-5000 (I cannot remember now exactly). The guy said that it was not safe at all to drive and he could audibly hear that it was off.\\n\\nThis was a relatively new truck, not even two years old at the time with less than 70,000 miles. I was stunned.\\n\\nI told him to put it back together and I paid the $150 fee and drove it to another shop.\\n\\nThat mechanic kept it for a week said he certainly could not “hear” anything and could not make it throw the code again. He told me to drive it until it came back on.\\n\\nThe truck is now over 3 years older with nearly 90,000 more miles on it. Still haven’t been able to get that code to come on.\\n\\nMaybe they deserve 1 star for being crooks or 5 stars for fixing a $4000 issues for $150…..\\n\\nI recently had a very similar experience with another Ford Service Center.\\n\\nThey aren’t mechanics, they are code reading technicians. If they give you a high quote, tow your vehicle somewhere else and get a second opinion.\\n\\nYes, I did wait three years to write this review to make sure my truck was actually fine. Yes, them trying to steal $4000 from me made me mad enough to remember to write this review.

My son has a 2018 Ford Mustang Ecoboost in which I purchased from Carrite in Tuscaloosa, AL. With the car, I purchased an extended warranty on the car. The radio dash has gone out on the car and is not working. I contacted BIll Russell Ford Lincoln in Columbus to see what is wrong with the car. I was told that I had to have an appointment and explained everything to the representative that took my call in the service department. He asked what was the name of the extended warranty and I told him the name. He asked where did I purchase the vehicle. I told him where I purchased the vehicle. He asked was it a Ford dealership. I told him no. He proceeded to tell me that some of the extended warranty they are having a hard time getting their money and stated if it don't pay I will be responsible. The extended warranty I purchased with the vehicle is a turbo that means it covers everything on the vehicle and I mean everything. I couldn't get an appointment until Wednesday at 8:00. I had to wait three days for them to tell me in person that they couldn't take my extended warranty because it was from a used car lot. I told them the car lot has used and some new cars. I told him you should have told me that instead of having me drive all the way. He stated that he didn't know what was the name of the warranty or the dealership. I told him that was told to you because you asked what was the name of the extended warranty and stated you never heard of it before and the name of the car dealership. I contacted the extended warranty to see if it could be used at the Ford. The lady told me that it could be used anywhere except some place that is not around in Mississippi. I could have take the vehicle somewhere else instead of waiting 3 days for him to tell me he can't take it after he talked to his supervisor. I told him you should have done that and told me that day. Very unprofessional. So, since Ford sells new and used cars do they honor their extended warranty from their part of the used car lot. I am just saying. I took it to the Ford place and Starkville with no problems in which I could have done that last week when I called to get an appointment. It would have been fixed by now. Very unprofessional.

I brought my truck in to have some recall fixes done and the technician did a terrible job. The work to be done was replace the engine block heater wire in my 2013 f150 and there are at 3 issues that I've found. 1.) they did not order the parts ahead of time even though the exact work to be performed is specified in the recall information so my truck had to stay for an extra day which could have been prevented. 2.) the technician left his flash light resting against one of the pulleys on the serpentine belt!! Luckily I found this once I got home otherwise this could have caused serious catastrophic damage to my truck!! Then they called and asked me to drive it back to them! 3.) now a few months later I am changing the oil and realize that the technician didn't even connect the wire to the engine block heater!! It had 2 zip ties holding it up but was not installed properly and none of the factory installed clips were used to hold it in place. I will never use your service department again!! This is the worst service I have ever received

With much thought and consideration I have decided to make this post, so others may be able to avoid what happened to us. On 3/10 I went to the Quick Lube, owned by Bill Russell Ford. We have done business with them in the past concerning new tires. I purchased four new tires for my Tahoe. I had a 1:00 appointment on March 10. The first concern I had was that it took 2 1/2 hours to put on four new tires. When they finished and presented my bill, I was informed I was missing a tire sensor. Dylan Pounders at the service desk told me I was missing a tire sensor on the front right tire. I told him all the tire sensors were working, and there was nothing wrong with my tire sensors. He told me again the one on the front right was missing and it was missing when it came in. I told him that could not be so, I had written down all the tire sensor pressures the night before, all of them worked. He stood steadfast by his lie. I paid my bill and I left. He could’ve told me anything else on that car was wrong, and I would not have known the difference. But, as I travel a lot by myself, I use my tire pressure sensors to check the air in my tires every time I take a trip! After leaving the store /dealership, I pull over to check the pressures, and sure enough the front right tire sensor is not showing on the monitor. I call Jerry and he calls and talks to Dylan. Jerry tells him that the sensor was on there. Dylan calls him a liar and hangs up on him. The next morning 3/11, I went to the Bill Russell Ford. I was approached by two salesmen and I told them what happened the day before, and I showed him the piece of paper below,(picture below) that shows I had four tire sensors in working order, and they were checked off. I told him how Dylan Pounders came out and told me the tire sensor was gone, it was gone when I brought it in there. How my husband called and tried to talk to Dylan, he was called a liar and was hung up on. The salesman immediately told me that he would take care of it and order a sensor. He goes and calls Dylan. Comes back tells me Dylan will order a sensor, but lets me know again that Dylan has said it was missing a tire sensor when he got there. I refresh his memory again!!!! I show him the paper where it is checked off as working in the bay. I asked, now are they doing an inspection or just penciling this paper. These tires have not been taken off this car since I bought it 4 years ago. It’s checked off here, I checked it the night before in the carport, I do not want to hear that again!! I informed him I was going out of town and I will pick up the sensor when we get back. Jerry takes the car down there on March 23, the service manager, in the actual dealership shop-not Quick Lane-tells him that there are two tire sensors missing now!!!! Jerry tells him that 1 is supposed to be missing. He has an attitude immediately with Jerry, tells him they do not have two tire sensors and he’ll have to bring it back another day. After Jerry leaves, he notices that all the tire sensors readings are blank on the screen. We can’t even pull them up and check the tire pressure. So the next day, March 24, I take the car to an independent shop that I trust, in Aberdeen. I’m not going back to Bill Russell Ford/Quick Lane to be lied to for the third time! The mechanic inspects the car with a little machine that checks the sensors. There is ONE sensor missing. The missing sensor is NOT the front right like we were told twice by the Ford place, but the back left. Not only have they taken the tire tool and ripped the sensor off when they changed my tires, but they did not put the correct tires back in the same position for the sensors to pick up properly. The mechanic replaced one sensor and programmed my tire pressure sensor reading per tire. I am not posting this to say that Ford is not as good as Chevy or vice a versa. I am posting this because there are some of you out there that are at the mercy of a shop. I am not at the mercy of a shop, Jerry just happen to be out of town when I bought the tires or he would

I bought 2 cars from them plus sent others to them and they also purchased cars. Recently I went to trade my car in and Gene who I haven't dealt with before, turned out to be pushy and rude and didn't listen to anything that I wanted. After being pushed into a car I didn't want that evening. The very next morning right at 8 when they opened I was there to return the car and they wouldn't take it back, and refused to let me trade for another one. So, I went to a different dealership the same day and got the car I wanted. NO THANKS to bill Russell Ford and his team of f****** morons!!! F U gene I hope you get exactly what you deserve !!! Karma 10x

Absolutely the worst service department for a dealership. I would rather travel 60 miles to another dealership than deal with the service department personnel.
