Love my commissary!

Super small. Store selection is slim to none. Meat prices are very competitive. That's pretty much the only reason I go there.

Not as big as other commissary's I've shopped at but still decent. Nice variety of common items you would need and definitely cheaper than the mini mart. Tax free and good place to grab something for lunch as well (sandwiches and sushi ready to eat).

Is an inconvenient commissary. Produce is often rotting, lucky to have poultry stocked.

The employees are wonderful, super nice, and will chat and ask regulars how they've been. Only two downsides. It's tiny. Super tiny. Could be used for a pharmacy. You walk in and you can see all four walls. Ergo, due to its size selection is extremely limited and they've cut even more items recently. The second downside is the hours. They're closed Mondays and open from 9am to only 6pm Wed-Sun and 7pm Tues making it very difficult to get anything if you work. I do basic grocery shopping there since I live on base and many items are cheaper at a commissary (not fresh fruit). Due to it's size it can't have everything so I'm often making trips to the Super Walmart, Sam's Club, and Keesler AFB Commissary 20min away. I recommend going to Keesler (open every day but sadly only 9am-7pm) for major grocery shopping once or twice a month as they have a very large commissary, huge selection (on the same level as a good Wegman's), same prices as Gulfport, and many speciality and gourmet items that are hard to find. I still do most of my shopping at Gulfport due to convenience, prices, and the employees treat you like they've known you for years. I just have to go elsewhere on Mondays, after 6pm, and if I need anything not extremely common. All in all I do like Gulfport a lot. I just really wish the base was bigger so we'd have a bigger commissary but then you'd lose the comradery with the employees.
