“Convenient location on the corner of Pass rd and hwy 49. Actually less than half mile to Beach blvd as well as the Gulfport Aquarium. Even though there's no more $1, items you can still save by getting your snacks here b4 heading to the beach.”
“Nice to see the company has stepped it up a little on the holiday decor section. Not a whole aisle worth but what they do have is very cute. Prices on everyday things are still a little higher than your big box stores but its nice to run in & out when you need just a couple things.”

“This review is pertaining to the Dollar General on Highway 53 in Harrison County. I live less than 2 miles from the Dollar General, on highway 53. So naturally, it’s the first Store that you go to when you need something! Coming out of Covid, just about all of the Dollar Generals on the Mississippi Coast, Struggled to keep their stores stocked with merchandise! Retail is not an easy job to keep up with, especially if you have thousands of different products! Some of the items come from the Dollar General warehouse, on their Dollar General truck, And then you have local vendors, like the snack cake, vendors, the bread, vendors, and most of the time it is a guessing game on how much product, that needs to be left at each store! Four the last three years, The store on Highway 53, has struggled with keeping things on the shelf! Simple things such as sugar, milk, bread, tea bags, even coffee! There is nothing worse, to have seven things on your short grocery list, and you have to go to four dollar generals to get seven things! The Highway 53 store has had its fair share of problems, keeping every day staples in stock! one of the reasons that it bothers me so much, when they don’t have the items that I need when I go to the Highway 53 store, Is my father in the late 50s opened up a wholesale tomato company, and we sold to restaurants and grocery stores! Over a total of 60 years in the tomato business, our family business never ran out of product! Now, keep in mind, that a tomato once it makes it to the market to be sold, has about 10 days to sell it before it starts To rot !!! But a can of green beans if stored properly can last for 50 years or more on a shelf? So how can a store run out of green beans, or other merchandise that has a long shelf life! Most of the time it is the human element that the problem leads back to! Which, brings me to some. Good news! The Dollar General on Highway 53, within the last few weeks has a new store manager! And what tipped me off that something had changed at the store, was Saturday night at 9:30 pm July 26th, since it was the closest Dollar General to me, I stopped to get a gallon of milk, a bag of sugar, and a loaf of wheat bread! And they had all three items! Which meant that I didn’t have to go to another, Dollar General to get the rest of the items that I needed! When I told the gentleman working how happy I was that I didn’t have to go to three more stores to get two more things, he told me that he was the new manager! After a short conversation it became very clear that the new manager named T J, is most definitely a thinker a doer, and a go-getter, and he is proud of his store! He has within the last couple of weeks has really turned the store around, and I invite other people to go back to the Highway 53 store if it’s close to you, because the new manager is making big changes in a positive way, that actually will please the customers! So feel free to stop in and tell the manager TJ how good of a job he is doing! It’s amazing how such small things can make such a big impact on peoples lives when a store don’t run out of a can of green beans! Good job, TJ! Keep up the good work! JIMMY MCNEELY 07-2024 ???”

“I shop here frequently for something I discover I need at the last minute. You know, milk, bread, tissue, etc. They seem well stocked and reasonably priced. Sometimes you have to squeeze a rubber squeaky toy on the counter to get an employee's attention cause they are stocking shelves. But that's ok.”
“This Dollar General is right off of Highway 90 very easy to get into and get out of. They were well stocked the day I went was able to use my digital coupons without a problem they have cold beer, cold drinks, stuff for sandwiches so if you’re planning to go to the beach. This is a great Dollar General to stop at and pick up last minute things or to fill your ice chest for a beach day.”

Glad they gad what we needed and didn't have to travel to another store. For we were already 10 minutes late and another 3 miles to drive.. Telling It Like It Is ?

They both were in the middle of stocking shelves and unloading the truck and took the time out of their day to help me. I appreciated it very much. Keep up the good work ladies. “This store is a 100Xs better than the one on Three Rivers or the one on O'Neal. They stay pretty well stocked, the store is clean and everyone is friendly and acknowledges you.”
“If this IS the one in Hardy Court, I have to say that Diva made my mother and I feel like family. However, I was there yesterday 2x and each associate wouldn't speak behind register. Both guys kept eyes forward and literally WOULD NOT speak! That is NOT good customer service. I was there in morning and afternoon. It's become my go to but NOW I won't go in there unless I know Diva is there. She's an amazing store manager and so nice. But the 2 young men working yesterday, Sunday ..I considered to be rude and very unprofessional.”
“I like Dollar General as an alternative to Walmart. The store was clean the store personal was friendly and it is usually well stocked. It is close to my home so I don't have to be in alot of traffic.”

“The store has been closed because their air conditioner is out and it's 100+ outside. That is why they close during the "main part of the day." They have been in there having to go to the hospital from the heat, just to be open for yall when they are. And yall have the nerve to get on here leaving bad reviews and complaining.”
“Hey there on 7/19/21 I stopped in looking for a phone wall plug. I asked for help and this lovely young woman said you didn't have any. I asked her where the nearest store was not know I explained my mom in hospital and we having to say and I need one and have to get back to her. She unplugged her phone and gave me hers. “I just left, I didn’t get the guys name behind the register but he deserves a raise. He was manning two registers at a speed most dollar general cashiers can’t do at one. He’s too good for y’all, do whatever you can to keep him”
