I requested high-lites and/or curls: I came out looking exactly like I did when I came in, but with bright red hair. What a disappointment! Not sure where my communication went wrong. Oops! Guess I’ll have to get a perm BBC and hi-lutes from a box!! Lol. Boo hiss! However, the salonist was on time, professional, studio quality decorated and the have a nice jewelry selection at check-out. Before and after photos: can you guess?Service: Hairstyling

The place it small but people are very friendly. I dont get my hair done here but my client does and has been for years. This is not a place for African American people to get styled.

I've been getting my hair cut and colored here for the last 20 or so years. It's THE spot to find out what's going on in Jackson! If you go on a Saturday, by the time you get a color and cut from one of the ladies, you have a week's worth of gossip to share! It's FABULOUS! You come for a color job and you learn so much more! If you're in a hurry, you need to run along ask Jason to fix your hair. In and out and it's over. *ugh* How boring! He does a marvelous job honey he will fix you right up but who wants that? No thank you not me! I like to stay and gossip. Jason will cut anyone, any kind, anyway you have it. He's just the nicest man! That's the other side of the salon. I don't go over there. Who knows what goes on in the other side of the salon? ??? I'm just messing. It's just Jason and his station, the stylists break area and the bathroom on that side. They have coffee and what not. I don't drink coffee so I don't go over there.Now it's not one of those walk in kind of a place. They want you to have an appointment as most of these places around here do. It's closed on Monday like every other hairdo place in Jackson has been since the dawn of time. It's just how things are done in Jackson. Nobody gets your hair done on a Monday. Everybody knows that.

I've been going to J. Sims for nearly 5 years. They are THE BEST!!! Rita is my HAIR GODDESS. I always feel so special and my hair is gorgeous when she finishes. LOVE HER and THIS SHOP!!!
