Great muscadine products, but I'm so sad that we learned today that either we'll have to learn to make jelly or else find a substitute for the delicious jelly that tasted like my mama used to make. The produce market where we used to buy it told us that they're no longer shipping, and when I looked at their website, there was the "down for maintenance" words I hated to see.

We didn't actually go to this place, but we purchased their Muscadine Jelly at the Mount Locust Information Center on The Natchez Trace.

Love Ms Betty. Sweet lady. Love seeing the orchards with Blue Berries, Black berries, muscadines and more. They make Jellies, Jams & wine. Their products are sold in a variety of places across Mississippi and on their web site.

I'm from Mississippi, but live in Dallas now. I was looking online for a place to get Muscadine juice and jelly and came across this place. It being home, I had to try it. I ordered a bottle of juice, Blueberry jam, Muscadine jelly, and Mayhaw jelly. I could not be more pleased! All are absolutely delicious! The Muscadine jelly is actually my favorite (hard choice). The Blueberry jam is just devine! Most berry jellies and jams are smooth, but this has the actual berries that you can see and taste. Absolute perfection, just like Grandmother used to make. Ok, so maybe IT'S my favorite. The juice is smooth and delicious when very chilled. It's perfect for a brunch, lunch, snack, or dinner. It might be my favorite, but I'll have to get more to make sure of that. ;) There's only one problem with it... it's WAY underpriced! Shipping is expensive, and they really have no control over that, but a large (19oz) jar of Blueberry jam is only $5.00. I felt guilty paying so little. Bottom line, you just can't go wrong ordering from this place. If I could think of another word for delicious or scrumptious, I use it. It still wouldn't do them justice!

If you seek unusual and special food products, this is a worthwhile stop. I have been a fan of the muscadine fruit for many years and this small vineyard and farm make some very unusual products including a wonderful Mississippi muscadine juice and muscadine jelly. The products are available at a few groceries and locations around the state but this is where they are made and you can buy them onsite. It's available in Corinth at Rogers Supermarket. Mississippi did not repeal prohibition until 1966 and for a short time thereafter several boutique wineries sprouted around the state. Only one, Old South Winery in Natchez, survives today. Hillside Vineyard only bottles pure Muscadine juice and it is unique and quite delicious served very cold. I've always thought it was the perfect match for a classic Southern breakfast of country ham, eggs, grits and fluffy buttered biscuits with muscadine jelly. White muscadines are also known as and called Scuppernongs and an article I ran across many years ago from a publication called the Southern Cultivator dated 1868 referred to the juice of the Scuppernong as "Dei Donum Magnum" which was Latin for "Great Gift of the Gods". That is how I would describe Hillside Vineyard's muscadine juice.
