April 2018 by Anna Kelly
My husband purchased my ring in April of 2017, paid in full. By July of 2017 - I lost a diamond out of my engagement ring. No problem, it was taken care of. Couple weeks later, I lost another diamond. Contacted the store, they told me again no problem, I'll fix it! THE DAY I was taking it up there I looked down and now TWO were gone. Again. I'm nice and I tried not to throw a fit so I took them back to him for him to repair. Except he said that the setting was faulty so the he would be getting the company to replace it. So I put my WEDDING BAND on. That has never been out of the box because I was only engaged. I wore my wedding band for ONE day and the next morning, a diamond was missing from my wedding band! Obviously furious, I took the band to him. Got it back and the prongs were build up around the ONE diamond that was replaced on my band. So I told him that was not acceptable, since obviously they ALL needed to be built up around each diamond. So in the end, I was told that he sent off BOTH of my rings, brand new gold. Well today, I took my rings to be cleaned at another jeweler.... he told me that I had LOOSE stones in my engagement band and that he could not clean my wedding band because there was not enough material around the diamonds to keep them from all falling out! So now I'm having to pay to repair my wedding set that we paid thousands of dollars for! Tyler and I had to WAIT to get married because of this!! We had picked the date of October 6th and had to WAIT, because who gets married without their wedding rings??? Not me! So we had to wait to get married until December 5th! And also, I'd like to say that I am EXTREMELY careful with my jewelry. I don't sleep in, clean, swim, anything! I put them on when I walk out the door and they come off when I walk in the door. I have thought long and hard about putting this out there, but today was the final straw. Since he likes to blab my business to his family which gets back to me, hows this for blabbing yours! All I'm saying is that I would never recommend The Diamond Shop to ANYONE. If you did shop there, get them checked by someone else! And I hope that no one else makes the same mistake that we did and have to go through this too!
