We were staying in Ocean Springs MS and decided to drive to Laurel because my granddaughters love the HOMETOWN show on HGTV and we promised them we would get them something from the town. A lot of the places were closed because it was Monday and in February. The mercantile was open and the Scent Library was open too. The mercantile is smaller than what I expected but had quite a few items. The items are not cheap so be aware. The people working there were pleasant one lady was very friendly and talkative. We made a few purchases.

Those who visit downtown Laurel must pay a visit to Laurel Mercantile Co. The store has a comfortable old-fashioned feel to it with its hardwood floors, high ceilings, and wood accents. It is stocked with high-quality products curated by Ben and Erin Napier. You'll find things for the kitchen, clothing items, books, toiletries, and so much more. We bought a beautiful Adam Trest print and took it a few miles to Napier Frames to have it matted and framed. It looks beautiful and we can't wait to hang it on our wall at home. Besides it being a pretty store with nice things, Laurel Mercantile Co. also employs friendly, helpful people. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door, and the person who checked us out chatted with us just like stores of bygone days. Laurel Mercantile Co. is a fun place to shop and should be at the top of the list for anyone visiting the downtown Laurel area.

What an adorable boutique. We were treated like family. We came for a birthday celebration weekend and would definitely come back again. Iris was amazing to meet and we just adored her.

Opening my package from Laurel Mercantile felt like Christmas in July. It arrived in less than a week and was securely packaged. I got a few prints, a headband and a cutting board, which is a beautiful walnut and branded with the Scotsman Co logo. I'm used to headbands being a little tight but I guess because of the width this one is quite comfortable while still securely holding back my hair. I'm so happy with the quality of everything that I think I'll do my real Christmas shopping here, too.

The Mercantile is part of a center piece of the Hometown theme and TV program. It does not disappoint. Variety of items center on what we had seen in the show as well as practical items. Pricing is what you would expect and one of the owners of store and stars of program takes the time on paper to explain their pricing. We appreciated the explanation as also applied for Scotsman store as well. (Went to both a couple times).

I drove into town and parked in the first spot I saw at the Mercantile. It is such a sweet little store full of items that would only enhance my own home. They have beautiful artwork, designed cookbooks and sweet postcards. They do sell the cutting boards and other wooden accessories from Scotsman. They also have an awesome selection of Novi creations jewelry that Erin wears. The staff was great, I spoke with Iris for a good bit about her experiences. She made my first hour in town feel so welcoming and comfortable. It set the WHOLE tone for my 3 day trip in this amazing little town. I did find back another time to look at a few more items I think I needed.

Great shop in a really nice small town. Shows off Erin Napier's art and wares, as well as those of others. A 'must-visit' in Laurel.

Like the Scotsman you already know what you are going for when you get here. If you don't know, you will enjoy the products offered. Great pricing for memorabilia shoppers. My wife HAD to get something from Erin's store. It's a great draw for Laurel!

Interesting tourist stop. Very pricey. Not what o was expecting at all. I was thinking of an old store with lots of new old merchandise. This place has t-shirts, candles, cutting boards and souvenirs.

I wish I had more pictures of everything they had inside! The staff was super friendly and one knew a lot about Ben and Erin Napier, i can't remember her name but she was a joy to talk to. I really enjoyed my experience here. This location definitely has a lot of stickers and post cards if you want small souvenirs. This was the only location (over the Scotsman General Store and Scent Library) that I noticed with things for kids (like shirts and stuff). They also had a lot of art from the show here which was cool. Can't wait to visit again!

I hope Laural really knows how special having a place like this is! We met so many people just in our quick 4 hours here. I felt more "at home" here than I ever felt in Chicago. Everyone that works there genuinely really cares why you're there and talked about how great it is to get all these people wanting to check out their sweet town.
