“My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and LOVED it! We were made to feel right at home. The owner, Colleen, was so warm and relaxed during our stay. She cooked amazing breakfasts for us each day, was knowledgeable about the home’s history, gave good suggestions for things to do but also gave us our space and let us have the run of the beautiful antebellum home. She was generous with food and drink there. All the rooms - both the bedrooms and other rooms of the house- were exquisitely decorated. We spent hours going through each room and exploring all its treasures and history. We could have spent weeks looking at everything. The attention to detail was excellent and even more fun to stay there like it was our home. We could imagine what it was like to live in that era. We loved the vast number and variety of books to read and artwork to admire. The outside gardens were lovely. We absolutely adored Colleen’s two attractive and extremely well behaved dogs and her Siamese cat. All the animals were friendly and used to people. Since my husband and I have dogs and cats at home, we felt right at ease. That was a fun dimension of her B&B. We loved getting to know Colleen (she tells fascinating stories), her pets, the house, and it’s history. It was a very memorable trip and we definitely plan on coming back again. Colleen really made us feel like family. I don’t think we could have planned a better honeymoon spot. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!! It’s 100% worth it if you’re looking for a memorable getaway!Rooms: Just gorgeous! Decorations were so lovely and it was so fun to stay overnight in a piece of history set aside in time like that. They’re old so you can’t expect a lot of modern amenities (although there was free wifi) but if you like antiques, history, comfort and beauty, these rooms offer a lot.Nearby activities: We were within a relatively short distance from the historic part of Natchez. We found great restaurants like The Camp and Magnolia Cafe under the hill. The Castle Restaurant was fancy and delicious. We enjoyed seeing and exploring around the river. St. Mary’s Basilica was breathtaking. Touring Longwood was fascinating. There was so much to do nearby- we had fun exploring!Safety: We were tucked away on a nice plot of land and felt so safe. The house would be locked up at the appropriate times but my husband and I didn’t lock our bedroom door once. We just felt completely safe and knew the owner was respectful of our privacy.Food & drinks: Colleen made us delicious and large breakfasts each morning. Every day was something different and enjoyable. She was also generous with both her alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in the home. That was a nice touch. We appreciated her generosity there.Noteworthy details: Touring the home and examining all the details of it was so much fun in itself. Antiques, artwork, books to read, gardens, fascinating historical details really set this place apart from others.”

“The home is quite impressive. Tour guide spent maybe a little too much time talking about how the furnitureand chandliers were made rather than the history of the family.”

“We Googled “best places to eat in Natchez” and this restaurant popped up. We decided to give it a try and weren’t disappointed. We had the pork chops, catfish, and burger. All of us loved our food and the service was great! The waitress asked if we were going to be in town Sunday because they do a buffet. We decided to go back for the Sunday buffet. Everything was fantastic and probably the best food I ate in my life. The fried chicken and mashed were potatoes were definitely some of the best ones I ever had. My husband loved the stuffed catfish. He has ate a lot of catfish in his life and said this was the best he’s ever tasted. The price for the buffet was great! They’re super nice there and it’s a family run business. If you want to support local, please check this place out. You won’t be disappointed. I’m already wanting a trip back to Natchez, so I can stop back there to eat.”
