“Eearlier this morning, I made a stop in the Blueberry Capital of Mississippi — Poplarville. I visited the old drugstore where my mother worked in the early 1960s and discovered the old soda fountain is still running in the back.
She moved to Poplarville right after High School, worked at the drug store, lived with her sister, and studied to become a nurse. Then my father came home from the Army, they got hitched, and the rest is history.”
