SUPERVALU in Winona is a convenient and well-stocked local grocery store. It is about the only place in Winona to purchase fresh meats and vegetables, which are usually as reasonable as anywhere else and sometimes cheaper on a good sale. The butcher is available to accommodate special requests, with competitive meat prices. The deli is good, offering sliced meats and cheeses, cold salads, and home-cooked breakfast and lunch plates daily. Their already prepared dishes, like chicken dressing, baked chicken, butter beans, greens, cornbread, and sweet tea, are popular and satisfying. However, prices are higher than big chain stores, and it is the type of place where you have to watch price tags carefully, as some items can be two or three times the price of elsewhere. The deli items are also usually very high priced. While the displays, shelves, produce, meat, and frozen food sections are clean and tidy, there can occasionally be issues with produce quality. The staff is friendly and the management is known to handle customer service issues with kindness, going above and beyond to resolve problems. Be prepared for a line at the deli, though it moves quickly.

I recently had an issue when purchasing some sale items that did not ring out for the sale price. However, after speaking to Mr Eddie Dodd store manager in Winona. Mr Eddie made the situation more than right. His kindness and customer service went above and beyond my expectations.

Convenient and well stocked. Competitive meat prices. Butcher available to accommodate special requests. Be prepared for a line if you plan on getting plate lunches.....it moves really quick though.
