Terrible people. Calling us liars and mouthing off to customers. Would not recommend this place

A really nice place to stay! I was looking for a place to spend the weekend exploring Mark Twain National Forest, and this was the perfect spot. The owners do a great job of running the place, were more than helpful in getting us setup, where to go, what to see. The campground has a lot of activities for families - really enjoyed the laughter of kids playing outside, chasing the farm animals, riding bikes...highly recommend this place. The WiFi is a little limited, but we only needed it to map out our day trips.

We have stayed twice at Big Creek RV Park and highly recommend it! The sites are spacious and the facilities are wonderful! Great family atmosphere and fun activities to do, both in the campground and within 45 minute drive or less. We will definitely be booking a third stay!

CampingVery disappointed in this campground. Our family checked in. Host (wife) was very pleasant explained all of the festivities they were having this weekend to celebrate Halloween. We were excited to participate. As we pull through the campground we are looking for our number, the loop we were supposed to go around was blocked by another camper. No big deal, we didn’t want them to feel rushed and there were several pull through sites empty so my husband pulled through one of them so we could get to the other side where our site was. As we pull through the host (husband) was coming down the road on a golf cart. Pulls up to our truck blocking our campsite. My husband rolls down the window and the host starts to berate us for the speed we were driving. Stated he heard us fly by through the building he was in (which he probably did hear us, we drive a Hemi truck with aftermarket exhaust). Calls us a liar and insinuates that we are deliberately ignoring speed signs. I am profusely apologizing trying to keep the peace all while knowing we were not speeding through the campground. We have children and pets. We have been camping for years. He continues to berate us for another 3 or so minutes with no signs of stopping. Needless to say we left. As we leave he follows our truck down screaming “leave!” as we go.I’m not sure if this man was having a rough day, rough life, or what else he wanted from us, but you cannot treat people like that.If you are looking for somewhere beautiful to stay that is quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend Parks Bluff campground in Lesterville. They took us in that weekend with no reservations and were beyond polite, helpful, and happy we were there. Their campground was secluded and close to Elephant Rocks, the shut in’s, etc. we ended up having a great weekend.

We came to Big Creek RV Park for a little weekend get away. There is so much there to offer the family to do. There is a beautiful creek you can walk down. Nice pool, play gym, chickens, and many other little animals. The family who runs the park are very kind and are there to make your experience better. The camp sites are nice sizes as well. Highly recommend for any one to come here

We stayed for 6 days and had a fantastic time. The facilities are very clean, the pool is blue and clear and the walking trails are serene. This campground is really well cared for! The parking pads are very level, the grounds are well maintained and the service is amazing. We will be visiting again for sure!Safety: This is a very family friendly RV park.

Amazing camp ground for families. They offer a really nice swimming pool, nice playground. A pretty creek flows along the camp ground that you can walk down.

We stayed for a week and enjoyed the campground. Each site was large enough for Class A campers so we fit just fine with our little camper. All sites have electric, water, cable and sewer. Very pretty area with the creek to explore. We swam several times and the bath shower rooms are the nicest we've ever seen. The store was stocked with camp necessities and some food options. The owners take pride in the cleanliness of the grounds and are extremely friendly. The Amtrak on schedule was a fun nightly reminder that it was bedtime. It goes through in a few seconds. It may have 5 cars. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay near Taum Sauk, Johnson Shutins and Elephant Rocks just m

My husband and I became annuals about a month ago, and we are loving it so far! We live in St Louis City and this is the perfect getaway to just relax, unwind and spend time together. The facilities are top notch! Very clean bathrooms with private showers (very hard to come by at most campgrounds!), laundry room, and an in ground pool which we have yet to use but always looks clean and well maintained. Big Creek borders the camp and is great with both shallow and deeper spots depending on what you prefer. The owners are very friendly and offer plenty of activities for families like hayrides, duck races, a catch and release fishing pond, volleyball court, playground and even church on Sundays for those interested. We are usually here to escape crowds and people in general, and very much enjoy how peaceful and quiet the camp is at night. It is about a 10 minute drive to Annapolis where there is a Dollar General and an awesome produce stand during the summer months or about a 20 minute drive to Ironton which has multiple grocery stores and several restaurants. If you’re looking to float the river it’s about a 20 minute drive to Lesterville as well. Amazing location. I highly recommend this campground and am so glad that the Google gods brought me to it!

Big creek is a perfect getaway. It’s extremely quiet which was great for us and our two little ones. The creek access was very nice and the creek itself is super pretty. The campgrounds are clean and the sites were a good size. This is a great spot to just relax and hang out. The owners were so sweet too! We enjoyed ourselves so much we booked another weekend on the way home!

We had a nice stay at this RV park. Sites were level, great walking trails along the river in the park, and the owners were awesome. They recently bought it and during our month long stay it was evident that they were continually in the process of improving the park. There is some road noise and occasional train traffic but nothing excessive.

Fabulous experience. Under new ownership. The familyfosters a sense of camper community with activities and fun for kids and adults. The creek is wonderful, especially for the weekly rubber duck race! Quiet and peaceful.
