Previous tenant made a forwarding address plus gave me a forwarding address in case any mail arrived for her. I put her forwarding address on mail and mail carrier wrote "Do not write on mail!" Then put it back in the mailbox.

I rarely get my mail, I haven't gotten a water bill in months... the door to my mailbox is left open 90% of the time even in rain and snow so the mail that is delivered is always soaked.
