This shouldn't be a surprise of a review. I am commenting strictly on the service department, not the sales side of things. I recently took in my Atlas for a transmission fluid flush. It was due and, apparently, most of the regular garages can't perform this service, even at the specialty shop I went to. So off to the dealership I went and everyone knows the deal with dealerships. Be prepared to pay a LOT more for services and parts. The transmission was as expected. Several hundred dollars for everything. Fine. My issue came with a sensor problem on my vehicle. The rear sensors, those that indicate a vehicle in the blind spot, when there is cross traffic while backing up, the system that indicates when you're getting too close to an object while backing up. Now I know I don't know diddly squat about vehicles anymore with all the tech they have on them but I think I know enough to know when things aren't right. When I asked for them to check the sensors they gave me an estimate of....what was it, $150? $250? Something like that? I couldn't believe it. Again, I don't know sht about this high tech stuff but I would imagine what I was asking for was for them to hook up the car to a computer that would be able to spit out the issue with the sensors in a matter of minutes if that long. I would have been more apt to pay for the repairs than to pay the amount of money they were asking for a diagnostic. That just perpetuates the stigma that goes with getting work done at a dealership. It's just expensive for no reason. *I* think plugging in the car to run a diagnostic while it sat there getting a transmission flush (or whatever they call it) wouldn't have warranted the price of the diagnostic. I found it ridiculous. So my Atlas goes on without the sensors working until I can get the second mortgage on my house to pay for diagnostics and repairs.

Talked to Sam Goevert today. Absolutely stress free experience. Had a lot of knowledge about the car I exactly wanted. I'm liking a car from a competitor slightly better but seriously considering going Subaru just because of the amazing experience.

Literally the worst experience at a car dealership in my life. Bought a car with warranty. Should've been a free oil change. They charged me $115. Took FIVE pretty much six hours to "change the oil" gave me my car back dirty. Will never be back nor recommend to ANYONE.

Service department staff is wonderful! Every time I call they get me in promptly, tell me how long it will be and the cost. Very professional and efficient.

I really dread having to take my car anywhere because I feel like I always get a really intense salesman pitch and I usually say no and then get uncomfortable because people will push. BUT! That's not the case here. I went in for something quick and was able to get an appointment on Sunday for Monday. I showed up, checked in, and then went to the nice waiting area. Before I even really got settled into my work, they had resolved the issue! When I need to get my car serviced, I will definitely return here.

Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts - consistently bad experiences with service. Service advisors were regularly rude and abrasive when asked simple questions, and on multiple occasions, directly lied when asked questions over the phone. A specific example is for a service that was planned to take multiple days, I had asked multiple times when scheduling and on the phone 3 days before the appointment to confirm a loaner vehicle would be available to use, and was told yes every time. At the time of the drop-off, I was told that no loaner vehicle was available and that the service advisor who told me it would be available "shouldn't have said that".I'll not be returning to this (or any Dean Team) location, and I advise other Volkswagen owners to beware their service department and the things they say.

So let me tell you a story (that means that this will get kinda long)... My VW Jetta-R is a 2020, bought it as Certified Pre-Owned with 18k miles on it from Auffenberg in Shiloh, IL. When driving it home, as soon as I encountered rough roads I could tell that something was wrong with the suspension. Not wanting to go back to IL and knowing that the warranty was good at any VW dealer I took it to Dean Team on Manchester. It turns out that Auffenberg never removed the blocks placed in the springs for shipment. So remember, this was Certified Pre-Owned which means that it was inspected twice (once at new and again at resale) and Auffenberg missed it. WTH? My sales guy there was great, but the business manager was HIGH pressure on selling a warranty. Makes me wonder if they missed it on purpose. Dean Team fixed it in 30 minutes, for free. They have surely earned my future business. Auffenberg, not so much. It drives and rides great now, BTW. #deanteam #volkswagen

Had a good experience purchasing 2 cars from here. Our most recent experience with this dealership’s service department has been disappointing though. We think there may be issues with one of the car’s shocks. Trying to get an appointment by phone took 20 minutes only to be told we can’t get an appointment for 3 weeks. Service coordinators couldn’t even offer suggestions on where else to go. I realize regular maintenance appointments may not be as readily available but other dealerships we’ve purchased from make it a priority to check cars in situations that could be further damaging. Very frustrated by this experience.

I have on two Subarus and feel that Dean Team Subaru is outstanding. It is the only place I will even consider buying my next car from. Their service department is so well organized and so helpful that it is actually a pleasure to go there. When have you heard a comment like that!? They are helpful and they explain everything. They are also very kind and very patient if you have questions I don't just feel like a customer there, I feel like family

We have had two bad experiences at this dealership. The first was enough to keep us away for years. The second was forced because it was the place I needed to go to for an update on my computer in my Volkswagen. That was free so I thought it was fine- they couldn't cheat me right? When I came back to get my car they warned me and said the mechanic said "I don't feel right letting you even drive this car away because the break drums are so bad it's dangerous". I told them I had a master mechanic and I would drive it over to him to check it out. He took photos of the drums that were just fine. I drove back to Dean Team and asked to talk to Mr. Dean. I showed him the photos first and he said they were brake drums that looked just fine. Then I told him his mechanic told me he didn't even want me to drive off the lot because they were so bad. He said he would look into it. He called me about a half hour later and said he stood by his master mechanic. A man who runs this company and he "stood by his mechanic" when he told me himself by looking at the photos of these drums they were perfectly fine. I don't want anyone else to be cheated. This happened on 12/30/2019.

I bought a beautiful used Subaru from this dealer and after a few weeks I noticed the orange paint peeling in multiple locations of the car and the vehicle is only a year old. I researched online the orange paint of these vehicles and found out it was a known issue so I contacted the Dean Team to see how to get it fixed before it caused rust issues. I was told to take multiple photos and submit them for review to Annie and she would assist getting this fixed. I did exactly as Annie asked but then Eric got involved and directed me to take it to a Subaru dealership closer to my home for inspection of paint issues. Once again I followed instructions and Meredith at another location kindly assisted and agreed the paint was peeling and it was a known issue. I reached back out to Annie and Eric and they told me the other dealership had to help me get this fixed. I reached out to Meredith and she told me the dealership I just purchased my car from had to fix it. Very frustrating and after 45 days nothing was done to assist. I finally called the corporate office myself and they told me the dealership would have to submit an estimate of costs to fix this known issue. Eric and Annie told me to go back to local dealership to get estimate which I did. I shared this estimate with Eric and Annie over a week ago and never heard anything. I just reached out via email to check to see if the Dean team submitted the estimate to corporate and here is Eric's very unprofessional reply: Once again....and hopefully for the last time. It must be done by the dealer that inspected it. I am shocked that we have been treated this way by this dealership and I guess I will have to call corporate again to see if I can do all of this myself. I will never purchase a used vehicle or any vehicle from the Dean Team again!

Matt is FANTASTIC. I 100% recommend buying from them. They treat you like family and take care of you the whole way through. Not only are they personable but the customer service is amazing. I can’t stop saying enough good things about them! You made customers for life.

Unfortunately I love my new car but I have had to have it serviced 6 times since purchasing it in December. I had the service department schedule me on a day they were closed. Not 1 apology for the inconvenience. They then can’t get me in for 3 weeks while I’m driving with my check engine light on. I just picked my car up from the service department and within hours my check oil light comes back on for now the 4th time. I tried reaching out to a manager to get an understanding why my new car needs serviced on average, once a month. He never called me back. I’m not one to leave a negative review but I’ve expressed on multiple occasions how I’m unhappy and nothing has been done. My service was amazing while purchasing the car. Greg was awesome and I sent him multiple clients since purchasing my car. But the service department and the maintenance of my new car has been nothing short of disappointment. Could not NOT recommend Dean Team Volkswagen enough.

Would never recommend this dealership...very bad experience & I had friends who've said the same & I should of taken their word for it & gone elsewhere. I truly felt as though they cared more about making a sale then the customer & what's best for them. Don't waste your time-shop elsewhere

After thinking my go to fusz dealer would give me a better deal (since bought two cars from) they didn't. Dean Team Subaru best prices and no back and forth games. A special shout out to Dave Smith great guy and salesperson. Will be back for any future vehicles.
