The Ballwin post office needs to have clerks who actually want to work there and are courteous. Don’t take a job at a government office just so you can be unhappy and rude to the customers. After waiting in line for 15 minutes to have an emailed barcode for free postage printed, a pleasant lady said it had to be printed out somewhere else. It was unclear exactly why she could not have printed it for me to save time and gas, but I returned later with the package ready for mailing—basically just a drop off. Suggestion to Ballwin Post Office: is it possible to have a small package drop off area/window to avoid patrons having to waste time in line for a simple procedure?Only one clerk was waiting on people and seemed unhappy to be there. No numbers were being called at that time but I was asked for one. After taking my package, she did not ask if there was anything else I needed, but gave a cryptic response that I didn’t understand, did I “just want the receipt?” As opposed to what? A pizza to go with no anchovies?? ? It appeared that this person went out of her way to only do the bare minimum requirements of her job and was bound and determined to make everyone else pay for the inconvenience of her having to wait on them! I said I wanted some stamps and she said “which one and how many?” Is there a word shortage going on that I didn’t know about? When I asked if she could show me what was available, I was informed that there was a display on the counter and that she’d be waiting on the next customer. Really? Did I lose my place in line simply to look at stamps? This seemed unfair after I’d waited for over 10 minutes just to endure this inconvenience, which appeared to be another display of passive-aggressive behavior. Why is this tolerated by management? It felt as if this woman was doing everything possible to provoke me instead of being helpful! Then I waited for the next customer to finish so I could resume my original place in line. After asking for 10 stamps, I was informed that I needed to buy 20 of that kind. I said that the customer in front of me had asked for 4 stamps and was told that those were flag stamps. It wasn’t clear why a flag stamp had any distinction that allowed customers to purchase various amounts of it as opposed to others. While it was very exasperating, I held it in to avoid a disagreement and asked for ten flag stamps, please. Receipts were given but no other reply. Don’t employees even say thank you any more when a patron pays for something? When I’d bought 10 railway station stamps earlier in the year, no one refused me then or in another state. Although this lady may have had personal issues, it’s not professional or acceptable to treat customers in this fashion. It makes me want to avoid this post office in the future, though it is an institution to serve everyone fairly and competently. I’ve seen other employees there act perfectly fine as they waited on patrons or took a passport photo. Can’t we all try to be courteous to others?

Lazy, incredibly rude, and unhelpful workers. Asking them to do the basics of their jobs gets you eye-rolling, glares, and attitude. Pathetic customer service.

I just encountered the rudest person I have ever had The misfortune of dealing with. I waited in line and the associate refused to assist me in mailing a package. He made me go to the back of the line, would not lend me the pen that was in his hand and there was only one pen available to customers, for which there was a line. If you have any questions about who this man was, he's the one that's balding and wearing glasses.

I wish I had gotten their names but this afternoon, I stumbled in with two large boxes, one international. They got me in and out in minutes at the end of the day and with such kindness and joy despite being yelled at by a customer as they stormed out. Love the people at this location. :)

Dropped off two packages to return them to two different companies back in December. One made it safely to one company. The other wasn't even scanned in. We didn't learn this until the company asked us where the package was. Meaning someone back there in the USPS center wanted a snorlax onesie. Cool and all, but it was 100 dollars. Now we're being charged 100 dollars from the company because of either A) Your company's disorganization or B) your employee stole it. Either which way, this is definitely poor service. No wonder the USPS is struggling. Will not be returning.

I am always amazed how helpful the employees are in spite of the long lines. I have had surly treatment in other PO’s, but not here or in Valley Park. They’re terrific,

I just left Ballwin post office. I went in to mail a letter but did not have the zip code. The number screen was on 42 and I had 96 but there were only a few people in line. This happens almost every time when it’s later in the day that I go in there. When I was asked to come to the counter I mentioned that I had # 96 and that it said #46 on the screen. Stacy shrugged her shoulders and threw her hands up as to say that doesn’t matter.(since they are to lazy to change it)Then I asked for the zip code of the address that was on my envelope. I thought she was going to have a heart attack she shook her head in disbelief that I even asked that question and said you can look that up on your phone! I said well you aren’t able to give it to me? ( This was a Post Office I was standing in). She proceeded to tell me she didn’t know how to do it. So I walked out. Maybe I didn’t have a cell phone. I do have one but it has not been working. And the girl that was working with her has pretty much the same attitude because I’ve had her before. They are both just not very kind human beings. They should not be working at a job doing customer service if they don’t know how to give it. Why is this World so full of entitled people. They cannot look past themselves. If I treated clients with ANY amount of disrespect I would be fired. And that should be anywhere. Why are our standards so low and acceptable to some?
