Elephant Rocks State Park is a great family-friendly destination and a nice day trip, about ninety minutes from St. Louis. It is a unique park with huge rocks that look like an elephant herd. The main trail is easy to walk, paved all the way around, and is fairly wheelchair accessible. It is also blind-friendly with braille signage. The park features tons of rocks to climb on and explore, an old train engine house ruins, and a quarry. It is a great way to exercise and take in the breathtaking and beautiful views. The park has a large parking lot, with very accessible parking, and picnic areas with tons of tables, many with grills. A small playground is available. It is dog-friendly, allowing leashed dogs. Restrooms with flushable toilets are present. A food truck is sometimes in the parking lot. The park is not far from town for supplies. It is a great park to bring kids to for climbing and exploring the natural beauty and wonder of Missouri.

There is a short walk to a loop trail that leads you to various places of an area that was once a stone quarry. Many rocks have marks that originated from split larger rocks. You can walk around and climb on rocks.

Beautiful trails and water areas. The rocks are gorgeous and it's fun to climb around. Get there early before the crowds arrive.
