Colonial Gardens is a charming garden center that has become a favorite destination for visitors seeking nature, food, and community experiences. With over fifty years of service, it offers expert knowledge, friendly staff, and a wide selection of top-quality plants, including flowers, trees, and shrubs. The venue is also known for its farm-direct food, such as apples, blackberries, and pumpkins, which visitors can pick themselves. During the fall, the pumpkin patch is a popular spot, and the farm produces delicious, fresh-pressed apple cider. Beyond gardening, Colonial Gardens features a lovely cafe serving tasty breakfast items like biscuits and gravy, with outdoor seating surrounded by greenery and fall decor. The cafe has a welcoming atmosphere, and many enjoy sitting outside to enjoy the scenery while eating. The business also hosts classes, workshops, events, and festivals, providing a fun way to connect with nature. Its beautiful garden space is perfect for hosting private events or celebrations, including memorials, where guests can bring their own food. The shop inside offers interesting items, and visitors often find unique gifts and plants. Despite some prices being a bit high due to current economic conditions, the overall experience is worth the visit. Colonial Gardens combines the beauty of a garden center with the charm of an agritourism destination, making it a great place to explore, learn, and enjoy nature.
I found a single trunk river birch here; since it was so big, I had to have it delivered and planted; they did an outstanding job. I love that they use wooden posts as stakes.
