I went in to open a basic savings account, and it took a total of 30 minutes just to be told that I would need to provide new and old social security cards from my new married name, and former name, and both marriage certificates. My ID was valid and updated, and I provided them with my ss number, address, (everything their site said you need.) I went to a different bank up the street, and got an account open within 15 mins with ID, ss number, phone, email, easily with no problem. The guy was nice enough, but the bank has bizarre policies (even the lady at the other bank said that was strange.)

0 stars if I could. I have had so many problems with this bank and their banking app. I had a joint account with another individual. The balance was just a couple dollars and since they charge a $7 monthly fee if your account is below $100 they overdrafted the account by $5. I was not even made aware at the time of the $7 fee and since none of my other accounts had ever had less than $100 it was never an issue. As punishment for the overdraft they removed my ability to mobile deposit into any of my accounts for 30 days. I called and they told me due to the situation they would fix it but never even made the effort to do so. Their app is horrible about passwords as well. I regularly am told I don't have the correct password but when I try to change it, the app says I cannot change to the password I am trying to use because it's my current password. I have now been randomly unenrolled in the face recognition for login that I use to avoid the password issues and of course my password I used last is not working. I have been banking at this location since it was Adams Dairy bank and never once had an issue before Equity bank took over. I have had so many issues lately I've decided it's time to take my money elsewhere. It truly makes me sad because the employees are all so nice and helpful when they can be and it's not their fault the policies and app are complete crap.

I've been banking here since the Adams dairy days. Kristen has always been helpful, and I appreciate knowing her and her help over the years. This is a bank that knows me, and I feel comfortable with. Other employees I appreciate are Amber who went out of her way to help me get a new debt card yesterday, even called to make sure it was working. Dana, Pam, Parker, have always been super helpful too. A friendly staffed bank means a lot to me, and I highly recommend them.

I have always loved my experience with Adam's Dairy Bank, but ever since they were taken over by equity bank I have had the worst experience. During a "computer maintenance", on their end, I was charged an overdraft fee of $36 on an account that never went negative, which I had to physically visit the location 4 times to have refunded, even after multiple employees had told me they saw no where in my account having even gone negative. I was also unknowingly switched from a free account to an elite account that started charging me $6 every month. After talking to the branch manager, who said I would no longer be charged anything monthly, I began getting charged $5/ month for paper statements without being told, and then they said they won't be able to refund me for that. I'm very disappointed to make the decision to have to switch banks, as I have had my accounts here since 2006, but it seems like the employees there aren't too worried about it.

If you are the victim of identity theft, or someone charges your account with a bunch of fraudulent charges you can count on exactly 0 help or compassion from this bank. I found the fraud early while charges were still pending but not posted to my account. I was told they could do NOTHING until the charges posted- this policy alone aids the criminal more than me! Then told I'd have to come back and fill out paperwork after posting. So second trip in and filled the paperwork out on the ones that had posted well guess what 2 weeks now and no money back no call from the bank no shits given. Went back in today to report the other fraudulent charges and they would not do anything but refer me to there toll free number to report fraud again no shits given. The toll free line takes a report and refers you to the local branch to report the fraud by the way. At no point has any representative reach out to us about this or provided one single bit of information. Take my advice do your homework on a banks fraud protection abilities and stay away from Equity Bank, I have been a customer there for probably 10 years since it was Adams Dairy Bank but I'm only waiting to get my money back then I am gone- and they could give a s*** less

They are like the year 2020 of banks. They will charge you $35 if you go one penny over your balance accident on purpose it doesn't matter, and then they'll get rude with you and tell you to go to some other bank that doesn't charge fees. Then whenever somebody gets a hold of your card numbers they'll stop your debit card and they'll tell you about that I'm going to tell you that they're going to send you another card but they won't. That's been my experience thus far with equity bank.

Has equity bank lied to you? Changed terms last minute? Charged you for appraisals and never did a loan? I encourage you to file a complaint with the Kansas banking commission! Also reach out to me with your story so we can join teams to make sure they do not continue these terrible business practices. I have already come a cross several with similar stories as mine. 417-214-8185 For me equity bank changed terms on multiple loans. Added early payoff penalties without my knowledge. Delayed loans on projects that were supposed to be funded in July 2019, finally ordered appraisal in October 2019 ($5500) then told me April 2020 that they were no longer doing the funding. Now I have paid close to $20,000 in costs on a $175k project and will need to pay another bank the same fees to finish the project and get a better rate. 6.125% where other banks are at 4.25%-5%. Plus a $6000 early pay off penalty. They were also supposed to be funding a 60 unit apartment complex and kept delaying the purchase to the point I was going to lose $50k in earnest money, $6,500 in appraisal fees, and much more. Luckily I called a real bank and within 3 days they put the entire loan together and funded it saving me all that money. Keep in mind equity bank lied to me and screwed me around for 4 months on what they did in 3 days. No rate comparison equity was trying to screw us. To add some credibility to my post. I own several strong businesses and a 250 unit rental portfolio. I am not just someone that is begging for a loan. There is much more that we have dealt with which will all come out very soon. But I should also add that equity is in a lawsuit for defrauding investors (google it). I hope this review will save many people that are on the fence of doing business with this financial institution, or if you currently are I recommend making a move right away! Let's force a change!

So happy to have this great bank in my hometown now! The lobby is so inviting, and all of their staff are very accommodating and helpful! Having the convenience of a drive thru ATM to go through at all hours is SUPER beneficial as well.

Equity has a great staff that's always willing help. Smaller bank with the hometown feel. They always look for a solution to a problem without passing you along to another department. Good Bank that I would recommend.

They are very limited in the technology they use. We were anticipating the buy out and switch to the new bank to help with technology. I have a business account, and three people later still have no idea how to do mobile deposit of checks. Each person tells you something different. If you keep your expectations low, and don't use them for business, they are a very friendly bank. I do like the staff. I like seeing the same person, and having them know my name. There are some advantages to a small bank. Modern convenience and technology are not advantages this bank can offer. Use them for your personal account, and use Wells Fargo or Bank of America if you want real service for a business account.

I love that this bank is local. The tellers are always friendly and remember who you are. Fresh baked cookies in the lobby. And they are part of the community. Bill Essman is always out and about to help in the community.
