Abandoned at hotel, had to check myself in. No staff my entire stay which meant no breakfast, no toilet paper and zero service. To get in I got a text with code. Never responded when time to check out and discuss bill or service. Very disappointed.

I would leave a negative minus a million if I could. Absolutely the worst experience with a hotel. Waited 15 minutes to get someone to the front desk just to check in. Got to room and half the electricity in the room didn't work, so refrigerator, microwave and ac didn't have power ( ac was a portable ac sitting on a table). Went to front desk and waited again just to be told they were booked and had no more rooms available and offered to refund. I explained I lived 3 hours away and was in town for a funeral, finally she offered another room. Second room had bugs and the vent to ac was shredded and someone had duct taped it previously. Went back down to front desk, asked for duct tape to fix it because obviously she wasn't going to fix it or call for someone to fix it because her answer was always she can refund the room. But she only had packing tape, so back to room I go trying to fix this with packing tape. I decided to run to the store and grab some duct tape at my expense. I get back and my daughter in law and baby grandson are sweating buckets. Ac wasn't cooling. So back to front desk I go and yes you guessed it was offered a room refund. Decided to go find some place else to stay. And then when refunded was told my remaining refund was booked through expedia and I would need to contact them ( oh of course). Never once got an apology.

Don't stay here they'll keep your deposit. We weren't even in there for more then the time we slept and the trash can they give you is so small it's maybe 2 gallons. What a terrible place and the pool pump was broken so my kids couldn't even swing and thats he only reason we stayed there. Claiming we damaged property when I know we didn't. I'm contacting the BBB and the Attorney generals office and has to be my worst experience with any thing I've ever paid for. Stealing from me but won't show proof of anything bc I know for a fact we didn't damage anything you crooked people. I'm sure the manager kept my 100 and claimed it took 2 days to clean the room when it would have taken me 5 minutes. I'm guessing she's the reason why that place has gone to crap and nothing is fixed. Absolute trash.

**Thank you for your response. I respect the work that goes into renovating a property of this age, but my review wasn’t about the building itself, It was about the work environment and management. While I appreciate the opportunities I had, my experience was marked by unclear communication, lack of recognition, and a hostile atmosphere created by leadership. These concerns can’t be brushed off as simply a matter of “fit.” They reflect a pattern that affects both staff and guests, which is why turnover remains high and genuine customer satisfaction low. I hope you take this feedback seriously, because improvements in leadership and professionalism would benefit not only employees, but also the long-term success of the hotel.
I appreciate the opportunities I had while working here, but unfortunately my overall experience was not positive. Communication within management was often unclear, which made it difficult to succeed in daily tasks. There was little recognition for hard work, and growth opportunities were very limited. The workplace environment felt disorganized and sometimes unprofessional, which created unnecessary stress.
A major concern was the manager, who was consistently rude and often crossed personal boundaries with staff. Personal jabs were made regularly, and simple mistakes were treated as if employees were worthless. This created a hostile and demoralizing work atmosphere. Additionally, I want to note that many of the reviews posted online are not written by actual guests, but rather by the internal team overseeing the hotel, which does not reflect the true customer experience.
From a guest perspective, the rooms are extremely outdated, and the thin walls make it hard to have a quiet, restful stay. Many linens are stained, and the blankets often have cigarette burns, which is unacceptable for any hospitality setting. These are long-standing issues that management has not addressed.
This place also has an extremely high turnover rate for a reason; both staff and guests quickly realize the issues are deeply rooted in poor leadership and neglect.
I believe with better leadership, transparency, and respect for both employees and guests, this could be a much better place. At this time, however, I cannot recommend it as a healthy workplace or as a quality lodging option.

We stayed a few nights at Buffalo Lodge in Buffalo Mo and the room was very nice My husband is in a wheel chair. We really needed a ramp by the back door. We’re both 83 and it was extremely difficult for me to get the wheelchair up on the sidewalk. April was working and she was so much help to me. Myrna

Rooms are average. Could use updating but it's the only hotel I town. Stayed here before and bed is comfortable. Rooms have a fridge and microwave. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the rooms around you. Plenty of parking

I've stayed in cheap places all over the world. This place is nicer than most with soft pillows and comfortable beds. It's a small town feel, because it's a small town, and it's a luxury feel, because it's a luxury in a small town. Will happily stay here again.

I always travel for work and I have to say it's been a long time since I've enjoyed a room like this .
Rooms: Updated rooms and beds are amazing!! Pillows are even better !

So we were super excited to hear that they had renovated this hotel, only to be disappointed upon arrival! If the rooms were renovated ours was missed! The carpet was had stains all over it, not vacuumed and the beds were super uncomfortable. The ac was so loud we had to set something on it to calm the noise, the shower was also letting off an awful skreech that the housekeeping lady popped her head in and said she would have it addressed, we saw no one in the 2 nights we were there. The wallpaper was peeling everywhere. Not only was the ac loud the vent on it was covered in dust n mold yuk. The toilet kept clogging and no plunger to be found or no phone in the room to call the front desk(that's a 1st). It has no elevator so make sure if u have someone who struggles with stairs(like we did) u get a 1st floor room(we were told they were already taken). Imo if u have someone not checked into a 1st floor room and someone with a health issues that needs it u give it to them. The lobby was nice as well as the breakfast area and the pool was nice too. The hot tub was down. Tv also struggled staying connected to internet. We'd stay again only if it was the only option bc it definitely wasn't worth the price.

While we stayed here, the night desk worker was amazing she was very sweet and accommodating. However, the day time manager on site on March 23rd, 2024, was another story, tried charging us for our dogs, which we kept them in the vehicle. We did not bring them in she called me and my husband derogatory names threatening to mace my husband in front of my three small children, she called the cops on us the whole time we were video taping how rude and hateful she was the cops showed and got us out money back...we will never stay here again and I hope others dnt get treated like this either. Be careful everyone.
