About Morris State Park
Morris State Park offers visitors a peaceful and scenic outdoor experience. The park features a nice little trail suitable for a nature walk, with a good variety of plant life, including trees and wildflowers, and some fungi. The trail is decently marked, making it easy to follow, and includes benches along the way for resting. One notable feature is a bridge over a tiny creek, which had a large hole and looked somewhat sketchy, but an alternative path is available to bypass it. The park is dog-friendly, with local visitors often walking their dogs on the trails, but owners are advised to keep their pets on a leash due to the extensive grounds. For those interested in hiking, the Beech Tree Trail is about 2.25 miles long and offers a more rugged experience with inclined areas and some sections washed out from heavy rain. It takes around two hours to complete and is recommended for more experienced hikers, with good walking shoes and plenty of water. Along the trail, visitors can enjoy shaded gazebos, onsite restrooms, and information signs. The park also features paved loops and a short trail into the woods, making it suitable for quick stops and family visits. Morris State Park is set in beautiful surroundings, including a peach orchard, and has been appreciated for its natural beauty during events like the Total Solar Eclipse. Overall, it is a nice, quiet place to enjoy nature, relax, and explore the outdoors.
Visited this on multiple occasions and if you are out joy riding in the area, definitely worth the stop for a beautiful short hike, lots of trees! Benches along the trail and a restroom to use.

We drive all of the way from Huntsville, AL to Morris State Park in Poplar Bluff, MO for the Total Solar Eclipse, and it was amazing. The state park was beautiful, and set into a peach orchard. Would definitely go there again if we had the chance.

We just made a quick stop. Very short paved loop longer trail into the woods bathroom and parking. Nice wildflowers and beautiful trees. Nice benches under a roof. Nice little stop in the road with information signs.
Dog-friendliness: We meet a local walking his dog there, big black and white dog.
