I recently moved from one location to another in Cape Girardeau, and decided to use Helpers again. I have used them in the past and have been pleased, and this time was no different. Leon and Damien were extremely careful. Some of my furniture is very bulky and heavy, including a piano, and they did a wonderful job. They were careful to wrap everything in padding, and nothing was damaged. Upon arrival at the new location they worked quickly and efficiently and were careful to place things exactly as I wanted.
I would not hesitate to use this company again. I got a good value for the money.

I reached out to Helpers Moving & Storage to help me move a piano locally. They worked with me on arranging pick-up and drop off, visited me to ensure that there would be no issues moving the piano throughout the home, and were especially careful during the delivery to ensure that nothing was damaged.
They were courteous and professional, the owner was friendly, and the service was at a great price.
I used them specifically for local moving, where they moved a large upright piano into the second floor of our home, and didn't scratch a thing doing it.
We're very pleased.

I’ve tried holding off on this review until I could write it more objectively, but this was the worst moving experience I’ve ever had. Cost was almost double the quote. A lot of time was spent between the workers debating on how to handle things or questioning me. Saw one worker on phone multiple times (when you’re paying by the hour this is a big deal!) The lead person kept coming to me with “potential” problems before they were even issues making things even more stressful. I lost track of how many times I was told by the lead that I had “a lot of stuff”. Then the aftermath. I have multiple things that have been damaged. Walls were scratched. Things were broken-one table was presented to me like the thing just fell apart. Another piece of furniture I found behind a bunch of boxes that had obviously been broken. Found pieces of my bed (which took a lot of time and discussion to disassemble and put back together because they couldn’t agree on how to do it) stuck in a drawer and not put back on the bed. The mattress itself (which is only a few months old)-I was told would be put in a mattress bag so I didn’t leave the protector on it. It was not put in a bag, but instead left on the dirty floor which got even more dirty because it was one of last things taken out. I could keep going. Two of the men were extremely pleasant and friendly which was somewhat redeeming, but overall this was a very stressful and costly endeavor-exactly what I was trying to avoid by hiring someone.

Finding movers is always a sketchy task, especially good movers. If you are looking for dependable and trustworthy movers keep looking. We had a terrible experience with Helpers. To begin, we were charged for 4 movers even though they only provided 3. We were told they would need 2 days to move us but on the first day after about 4 hours of work (1 truck/10 miles) they told us they needed to leave to do another job because they were shorthanded.... But not to worry they could come back next week! What kind of legit moving company would even suggest that? We paid in cash for the little work they did and in return we were allowed to move 3/4 of our belongings and put all the doors they removed back on their hinges. We made multiple calls to Helpers after their half day of work hoping to get a response from the owner/owners, only to be told they would call us back when he (Stan) returned from vacation. A little over a week later and no response and found out that one of the owners (Debbie) was onsite during the whole charade. We wasted our money, do not make the same mistake!

I’ve used Helpers in the past personally and professionally and had good experiences which is why I was surprised at how poorly things went with our move in late June. Two of their staff came out the day before and looked at everything we had and gave us a time and price quote to load us up based on what they saw. What was supposed to take 4 hours took almost 9. Multiple things got broken before even being put in the truck including the legs off of wood shelves and the glass part of a lamp. Multiple pieces of our furniture were covered in scratches and nicks when it arrived. Two dozen furniture pads were provided and they only used a handful. We requested the washer and dryer be wrapped and they did not do it, resulting in scratches to the finish as well as a severed wire in our washer cord. We had to be without a washer for over a week after we moved until it could be repaired. We brought this to their attention and they reimbursed us half the cost. We've left the area but if we were still there we would not use them again. Very disappointing experience.

The staff from their office, along with the helpful team, were exceptionally polite and efficient, taking great care in handling the baby grand piano. They ensured that it was fully protected with ample padding, and they were meticulous in their efforts to safeguard our hardwood floors from any potential damage. Their speed and reliability were impressive, and they kept me informed by giving me timely updates when they were en route. I wholeheartedly recommend Helper Moving & Storage for anyone needing a local or long-distance move. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly set them apart!

The team performed their duties magnificently, demonstrating politeness and respect throughout the process. They handled my belongings with great care. I was very impressed by their teamwork. They completed their work efficiently, and finished the job in a timely manner. I certainly plan to utilize their services again should the need arise. The staff at Helpers Moving and Storage are the best! Scheduling my move was easy, office staff kept me updated on arrival times. The movers were efficient and helpful and kind. They took good care of our things, and were respectful of our homes. I can’t sing enough praises about this company! They made our move 100x easier! 10/10 recommend!
